There isn’t really much to say about, but as a Fragger main, first I must tell some of you what ‘Assault’ class does before his own role.
You guys all know except Rhino, Nader and Fragger both have their explosives, right?
The point is, I’m not saying let’s discuss about he is OP or not.
Some of you, no, a lot of you guys may have thrown frags just for kills, but here’s the thing.
I just want to tell you guys that explosive’s main objective is not a kill, but neutralizing enemy deployables.
(This actually does apply to fletcher.)
Yes, early game cooked-grenade First Blood, or Double Kill, or may be Blast Master is also important, but I think a lot of people overlook,that your explosive is counter of those annoying enemy deployables.
You guys all know how hard it is to go through Bridge Defense team as Attacker, when there is aura’s station or bush’s turret located inside the corners, and beneath the ceilings right? (Unless they are so stupid that they deploy those things and dies with them…)
May be fire-support classes may able to use their AoE abilities, but in the map Bridge it’s meh.
So, this is the actual moment when you need to use your frag.
Can’t throw two in a row, Yes, that is a nerf, but what I wanted to tell ya was grenade is needed at those specific time, unless you are throwing it at the start of the game.
I personally used K51 Power Gunner, a.k.a. Machinegun Fragger for a while, but this M4 Fragger with Explodendyron option… this loadout is honestly pure sick, and single frag with that option was just enough for me.
unless there is two healing stations with lots of enemies crowded on both sides, I just didn’t really felt I need to throw both. If lack one? wait for the cooldown or bring another Fragger would be enough.
I’m sure we all know how huge this advantage is,when we are able to give damage without seeing enemies straight, right?
Like, for example, wall-bouncing Nader’s grenades you know, you don’t have to eye contact straight to shoot enemies while you constantly shoot those, right? Assaults got explosives to evade those situations while other mercs suffer for. For example, you tried to remove the healing station but faced Rhino standing on healing station and grind you in to pieces in 0.5 sec. So, this is why they are Assaults.
Simply, even I don’t get the kill with the grenade, neutralizing enemy deployables are quite enough I think.
Fragger still has both gigantic advantages, cooking frag so enemies can’t respond, and like nader, he can use his frag to give damage behind walls, corners, or so.
Damage isn’t even weak like Nader’s 90, it’s 150, I mean, enough for just single throw.
Fine tuning patch is rather going to make Fraggers to throw frag at certain situations that I’ve mentioned, so I think this isn’t must worth discussing.
I would rather discuss about broken Phantom, poor Grandeur RedEye, or Bishlok instead of wasting time for Fragger whining.
