Hey guys! I am trying to get a Fragger cosplay going for Fanime con in San Jose this upcoming year! I am already running into some questions being that this is my first cosplay. I want the cosplay to look as close to the real thing as possible. So far I have picked out these things that I will need to get:
vest - cross chest + foam collar
utility belt
fingerless combat gloves
Medium sleeves thicker shirt
ski goggles - square-ish with brown lense, black square frames, black strap with orange stripes
leg pouch things
jeans
backpack with cylnder + grenade holsters
knife holster on left arm
knee pads
weapon - AR15 or M4A1
So I do not have any sewing skills or connections to get things made. Basically I will need to buy the things I need. What I need help with is getting authentic looking gear. So far I have looked into the weapon and found a few air soft guns that would work but they are a big expensive and I have no interest in the gun being at all functional. I have also been looking at ski masks and I can not find one that quite fits the bill. I want to go with the bronze outfit because I figure that the green will be fairly easy to find for most of the parts of the costume. I figure that the jeans will be easy, the shirt will be easy The belt, gloves, vest, leg pouch, I am hoping I can find at a local army surplus store. I already have a backpacking backpack that looks pretty good and I can easily strap a cylinder to the bottom. The knee pads I am sure I can get at any sports store. I will also need a grenade prop and can’d find any that look right…The knife holster I may have to forgo because honestly I have no idea if it’s legal to have something like that. Do you guys have any suggestions?
On a side note a friend is trying to do a Nader cosplay and is very concerned about how to make the grenade launcher. Suggestions would be awesome here too!
