The M4 will still be used in serious competitive play because of Unshakeable. It’s still, and always has been, the reason why the M4 was preferred on Fragger at high levels of play. Many people interpreted the meta shift over to the M4 as the M4 simply being a better gun. It’s not and never was. Not dying to the other teams Fragger or Nader explosions trumps the slight killing power increase the LMG offers over the M4.
It’s funny how this has worked out. High level comp teams use a Fragger with LMG. Then they figure out their Fragger doesn’t die/get gibbed when running the M4 with Unshakeable…everyone switches to that quickly. LMG is nerfed in there so everyone assumes it’s due to the LMG being awful when it was always good. Now the LMG gets buffed again but it still doesn’t change the meta much since Fragger and Nader explosives are still pretty impactful at the high end of the competitive spectrum.
Yes, some people prefer the M4. It’s a good gun and it’s a lot easier to use. So some will honestly believe that it’s the best setup because it is the best setup for them. But that’s not why the high end of the comp spectrum switched.
Pretty much this. But if I may be so frank, that just goes to show that, imo the K-121 is going to be better for the vast majority of players if they put in the time to learn how to use the weapon and the reason I say that is simple: We’re not pros nor are we often going up against pros, thus we don’t have the same kind of playstyle constraints they have due to the sheer amount of game knowledge and ‘perfection’ they have to deal with.
In other words the things that are best in high level competitive environments are not the best things for the vast majority of pub environments, depending on the reason it’s best of course and in this case, I think the killing power of the K-121 is more than justifiable for most levels of play. Just my opinion anyway. I just hate people jump on something just because it’s popular in competitive without understanding WHY it is and seeing that it does not always apply down the drain, so to speak.
