So not sure what has caused it, but my in-match (As in controlling my character) FPS has taken a significant hit.
With Vsync off and while streaming to Twitch, I used to have to go into the .ini files and set the max FPS to 160 so as to leave room on my CPU to stream to Twitch on a semi-high quality level since DB used to use a significant amount of my CPU.
However, while DB seems to use less CPU now for whatever reason (Not complaining there), my FPS in-match seems to fluctuate pretty often anywhere from 80-180 FPS. This is with no frame smoothing and Vsync off. For comparison I used to get 240-260 FPS on high settings without streaming.
These values change slightly depending on what advanced video preset I have on.
Minimum: ~120-160 with occasional dips below 80. Especially right at as my character spawns.
Super: ~100-140, again with the same dips, except now to around 60.
Have been watching my CPU usage while in game and it seems that while loading any part of the game, CPU usage will be used properly; in the sense it will peak at ~90-100% usage. However once in match, it seems to hover right at 25% overall usage and occasionally deviates from that. (Side Note: Processors #1,3,5,7 seem to be underutilized by quite a bit; labeled 0-7)
Also, every time I alt tab, when I tab back into the game, CPU#0 and CPU#1 seem to switch loads.
GPU usage rarely goes above 10%.
I’ll list FPS in the different menus:
Main Menu: ~1500 - This is the only time my GPU seems to get actually used. Sits at ~50% usage.
Between Match Menu: 350 - This seems like a hard cap?
Match in progress and at Merc Select: 180-240
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs) 4.4GHz OC
Memory: 16GB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB x2 (I have tried SLI but only seems to slightly smooth FPS, minimal gain)
GPU Version: 10.18.13.5906
Ultimately seems like the CPU just isn’t being utilized as it should be.
tl;dr: My CPU fans are getting bored and my GPUs are just helping to make sure a strong wind doesn’t knock my tower over.
