FPS halves after 2 mins.

Bug:

Performance drops (fps halves) after the game has been running for 2 min 15 sec, counting from when map was loaded.

How to reproduce:

Example load Assault Course or any map with switchlevel and wait for 2m15s (stand still or move doesn’t matter) and the fps halves from 240 to 120 fps in my case. Frame and Game times from “stat unit” double but Draw & GPU times stay the same.

stat unit before & after:
Frame: 4.3 -> 8.5
Game: 4.3 -> 8.5
Draw: 3.7
GPU: 2.36

This happens every time and only exiting game helps (… but after 2min. fps drops again). In-game Graphics settings are set to lowest possible and thread sync is off.

HW & SOFT:

i7-2600k (Hyper-threading enabled, power saving set to max performance, temps OK)
Nvidia GTX770 2GB (latest drivers, power saving set to max performance, temps OK)
WIN8 (with latest updates)

Computer 2:
i5-5600k
Nvidia GTX770
WIN10

With this setup there’s an drop in FPS after same amount of time but fps recovers later…

After upgrading from WIN8 to WIN10 and changing GPU to gtx1070 the problem still persists but after unplugging game controllers usb dongle the fps drop is now gone! I’m getting stable 165 fps (vsync) in-game. I did some googling and found out that UE3 engine has this same problem with other games…

Thanks for posting the solution after finding out. I have had literally this exact problem for a long time and I basically quit the game because of it. I’ll try this and see what happens.
