fountain!!!

i want to know if its a possibility to flip a curve so the visible side is facing up???

im trying to greate a fountain and the best way i van think is to get to curves one for the outside and the inverted on for the inside, but the problem is i need a curve to bridge the 2.
how do i go about this.

any other suggestions/ help on creating water features would be nice!!!
i take it there would be a fair amount of scripting involved with the spouting of water

thanks

To flip the visible side of a patch, use CTRL-I (as in invert)

Why don’t you create something in gmax or even 3dsmax and export it? if you have more than one texture than don’t bother applying textures because they’ll probably get lost but you can use one texture or no texture at all and texture your model in gtkRadiant.
I can try making a nice fountain and you can use it if you like, or you could just download a free model, like this one: http://www.3dcafe.com/models/fountain.zip (you’ll need 3dsmax for this)

For the water, I think you should start investigating wolfparticles engine or whatever…
Then you should look for a nice particles tutorial for opengl or something like that and/or for a physics tutorial.
I don’t know how much I could help because I’ve never tried to use particles in ET but feel free to send me a PM if you need help (It just sounds interesting and I woul like to have some basic knowledge about it)

the problem with wolfparticles is - those can be deactivated.
i thought about a fountain too and feel somewhat comfy with
the idea of just making a fountain out of textures. same way,
as fires are done - but with a fountain tex, not a fire tex

haven’t tried it yet - if you do find some nice solution for
this, i surely would like to know…

Here’s something to think about:
Should a level designer should give up on features because they can be turned off?

People can turn ugly sky on but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make a skybox…
