Founder's Loadouts

(hawkeyeguy99) #1

I only started playing about 2 years ago so I missed out on any opportunity to get those founders cards (dammit). But do you guys think there will ever be cards that completely change a merc’s look again? Like just LOOK at this:

I would pay so much money for that but I also understand that we gotta keep those founder’s cards special for those who did have a chance to support them early on.

Yeah I want that fucking Fragger so much too, That orange hunter camo looks so fucking nice on him, Not even including the Kevlar Helmet, Backpack, Plate carrier and the GODDAMN shemagh

I can only dream of running Sawbones without that shaggy bandana.

They need to sell character base skin changes. That way they aren’t discarding their original system or discounting it. You could potentially purchase an alternate skin and apply the loadout cards of your choice; along with camo and perks.

Already suggested this a bunch of times, as many others probably have too. There’s some fantastic art from the early design of Phoenix in particular, with a full face mask, that makes me believe that SD would already have enough ideas to implement something like this.

Also on this subject, a community design “competition” for these style skins would be a fantastic idea, as I’m sure the shear amount of ideas would offer enough material for SD to pick and choose from. Offering completely cosmetic skins could generate income and give players more choice along with a chance to support SD without RNG.

Forum feature fail - I can’t like, agree and LOL at the one post.

I don’t understand why this hasn’t been done from the beginning.

There are so many opportunities to make money here, different skins, camo, character models, knives etc.

This won’t go down well with the F2P crowd, but this game seriously needs more ‘pay only’ items.

SD please give me a rainbow / blood stained / potato / DEVGRU coloured Beckhill.

I wonder if we’ll get any “founders” type things for playing in open beta, lol

As long as they’re reasonably priced or given a guaranteed and RNG feature (like so you can either buy it for more, or take your chance and spin a wheel kinda thing). A good way to implement more paid items is to create another currency that’s a “premium” currency. Now I know, games that have this are generally pay-to-win, but it can be done correctly for a great result.

Anyways, create another currency that’s used to obtain or play for premium cosmetics, make it so said currency is still obtainable by free players in the form of high-end missions or maybe “offers” like signing up for things or completing surveys (personally I used to do this a lot in certain games and it wasn’t hard to get paid items quickly). They key here is reasonable payouts and prices. A lot of games make their paid items insanely expensive, like $20 for a gun.

This alternate currency does have its drawbacks of course, but personally, I think it’s a good system if implemented properly. The problem is games that have used such a system fail because they do things like “timed weaponry” or limited use items.

Dunno how well this would work, but adding a level prerequisite for premium atuff might help improve DB’s image as a F2P title. That way, people would’ve understood the nitty gritty bits before dumping some cash.

Hopefully yes. Especially if we get trading.
I’m thinking about obsidian rarity cards that have a 1% chance to be unboxed in elite cases and 0.5% in expert cases.

Maybe being able to craft them by using 5 cobalts for the same merc. The obsidian obtained will have 20% chance to be each of the cards used, so if you use 5 of the exact same card, you will get that card in obsidian with the model changing skin so people won’t complain about RNG too much (unless we get trading and then it could be completely random or being unable to craft them at all)

5 cobalt for the same merc != 5 same cobalt.

You don’t need the same cobalt card, you just need 5 cobalts for the same merc.
If you use 5 of the same card (fragment or shard doesn’t matter), you will be guaranteed to that same card, but you don’t have to use it.

Also, if they make it easy to get these obsidians, then there will be no point in trading because they will be really cheap anyways
