That’s Turtle.

He’s been confirmed for forever and a half, and I cry every time I look at my avatar as I am not yet able to bask in his Turkish glory.

Turtle is an objective specialist, meaning he fixes things and arms/disarms C4 faster than other mercs. His confirmed ability is a deployable wall that can presumably provide protection and block routes.

The rest of his kit is unconfirmed.
He may have a second ability that gives him offensive potential.
His primary weapons are unconfirmed, but there’s speculation that he might get the BR-16 as default as no merc currently has it, and it would give him more killing power. I doubt this because it would put him somewhere around Skyhammer or Fragger, but without the offensive ability. I think he’s more likely to get KEK-10, Blishlok and Ahnuhld, but that’s pure speculation.

Maybe.

There is no confirmation that he will be added or even a time frame.

Maybe they have other mercs they are deploying first. Its pretty tight lipped info.

But im sure they will add more mercs over time.

Turtle is the last confirmed and unreleased merc, and the fourth Engineer (Objective Specialist, I prefer Engineer because it can be shortened to Engi).

He SHOULD be the next merc released, mostly because veterans (myself included) will probably riot, and his shield is already in the game files. There are already 4 of every other class, so if it isn’t Turtle, it will almost certainly be an Engi.
In regards to timeline, SD doesn’t officially announce mercs being added until about a week before. I’d suspect 6 weeks from now at a minimum, likely closer to 4 months, but that’s just speculation.

Regarding mercs after Turtle (or Engi 4, whoever it is), none are confirmed, but SD has always said that more will be coming.
There’s speculation on Javelin (Fire Support/Assault, I forget which) because a rocket launcher appeared in game files awhile back, but there’s been no official confirmation.
