Forward Spawns

Sigh. /Hangs head. I’ve been playing this game for a while and I still have NO idea where the forward spawn is on Waterloo. Apparently it’s near an MG, but I can’t find the damn thing. Can somebody help me out and post a screenshot or something? I’ve tried to find it, I really have,

Alright. Next thing. Since ETQW we’ve have the “press X to capture forward spawn.” I’m just going to throw this out there. This isn’t nearly as fun nor does it create the same drama as brushing up against a flag. I know, I know, you’re thinking “flags are so 1999.” This might be true, but do you know what some of my fondest memories of Oasis and Radar are?
“The enemy has captured the forward spawn.
We have captured the forward spawn,
the enemy has captured the forward spawn,
we have captured the forward spawn.”
It was fun. It was dynamic, it was DRAMATIC and areas of intense drama make for good maps.

Now it’s 2013 and I’ll bet we can code a forward spawn capture that doesn’t get stuck in a sound buffer for 10 seconds. To be honest, this might actually be less fun than the silliness of knowing the forward spawn status - 10 seconds ago.

So my suggestion is that if future maps have forward spawns, they be more ET like and less ETQW like.

its the computer with the lights around it in the courtyard, next to the truck. You have to stand next to it for 15 seconds to cap. The light on the top is the indicator to show you how long you have left.

I think it needs to be an instant cap, not a press x to cap either.

I like the 5 second “access the terminal” type of capture points.

I don’t really care for “secure the area” spawn points. It’s just muddy gameplay. The same problem with how the data cores act now.

I definitely don’t know where any of them are, that’s a problem. There’s a lot of hud and UI stuff to get into.

edit: honestly, instant capture feels sloppy, but both that and “terminal access” over “secure the area” by far.

i want flag spawns more than anything else. it would suite the fast action much better. see castle attack vid in my sig for examples. 6.00 min in

if the spawnflags are recaptureable by the defending team:
instant captures please!
remember the fun and action it was in ET! :slight_smile:

Either these need to be added or included in new maps. Also side-objectives as well.
