Fortress a merc that help augment "Cool" be cool.

Fortress is a fire support merc with a deploy-able mounted machine gun.

Health: 130
Speed: 390
Weapons; The same set of AR for Arty or Skyhammer.

Ability 1: Deploy-able mounted machine gun that only he can use. Just like Bush’s turret, but you will be the turret instead.
Cooldown: 10s everytime he un-siege .
The deploy-able mounted machine gun will be the same as the one on the EV which has some cover infront of it (maybe covers the below body entirely). It can only turn 140*. It will overheat just like normal mounted machine gun.

Ability 2: Ammo Station.

Augments: Standard augment for fire support class, especially “Cool” will be handy with this merc.

Strength: Great at locking choke point, flanking will pay a high prize if the position is right.

Weaknesses: Just like normal mounted machine gun, a bullet to the face or explosive will take him out, beside that, because he can only turn the gun 140*, flanking him will be easy. With 10s cool down of re positioning everytime will prevent player from spamming this ability.

Sounds like Tachanka from R6.

Not exactly, since Tachanka could leave his gun anytime he wants and come back to it.

Maybe make it accessable by everyone even enemies?

Fire rate and damage per shot?

Well i loved tachanka from Rainbow six, but i think you can pass the hp with 140
and make his weapons smgs

lol i know right, i think he will be a good pair with Turtle, hope some day we will see a merc with ability like this.

yeah, but i think his hp needs to low enough so snipers could take him out in 1 perfect 1 hs, or hurt him enough to make him run away.

With this merc out, why would anyone use rhino or even turtle? - You get a deployable hit box which acts as a wall and has massive damage with better range than rhino. More than 1 on a team, and attacking becomes nearly impossible.

Only counters are Fragger, Nader, and Stoker. - and that will only kill 1 MG: not two or three. (we assume at this point they don’t have Aura’s healing station hidden behind the MG’s hit box and the related revivals).

Maybe if there was less cover than normal mounted MG and halved DPS of MG, also adding little more spread when not iron sighting and while iron sighting, MG seems harder to use than normal…

If even this wouldn’t fix things, maybe adding 100 ammo (spares adds to 150?) per one mount or increasing cooldown once you unmount, also if it gets destroyed cooldown is doubled (if it can be destroyed like a turret or some deployable)

Anyways very good idea, but @Naonna is right and it could use some of these nerfs.

Yeah i had the idea of it being only deployable on cover (Railings, windowsills etc) and having no cover which i think balances this MG merc a lot better

Great idea, however I think that the MG should be usable by everyone and has limited ammo.

The mg should be able to be used by team… lots of people say it should be used by enemies too, but i think it should be used by teamates only

thing being, the gun will usually be pointed towards the enemies anyway, and im assuming the gun doesnt go full 360 here, so an enemy getting on the gun has rather limited effects
