When a new map starts, your third character is auto-selected. I would expect a choice or pick the first one. Also you cannot /kill and press a function key to instant respawn any more in warmup.

Same. I also am unable to select loadout 1 in most games without going to spectator and then back to the team select. Not to mention being unable to select any of the loadouts with hotkeys while in game.

What characters are you guys using, and in which slots?
Or does this happen regardless of the characters you have?

I had the engi with turret in 3rd position, medic (sawbonez 1st, BBQ 2nd). I changed my 3rd merc and I still spawn with the 3rd, not with the mdic (1st)

Just played around with this bug.
The bug is actually that your most recent choice/change is selected as your default character when you join a server.

Originally I had Stoker | Phantom | Vassili - Vassili selected
Tried Vassili | Phantom | Stoker - Stoker selected
Swapped Vassili for T-Rat - Stoker selected still
