Force Newbies to join max lvl 5 Servers

Okay first i am no pro at all.
I play mostly for fun, but i still make much effort when playing.

My Thread will be about Newbies who are really new to the Game.
I mean you played the Tut and click quickjoin and you all of a sudden are in a match where the average lvl including yours is 7-9, not much fun for you, but also not much fun for your team, because they have to carry you, but they can’t really, because for once the teams are somewhat balanced before you join.
So you drag your team alot and you can’t do anything about it, because, lets face it, its no CoD or anything, its a whole different Game.
So you play and get killed nearly insta every Spawn.
You say fuck this, this is p2w and leave and never come back.

I made that experience with a friend of mine, who not knew the game and i said to him download it. Im lvl 9 and he wanted to play with me, so he joined me and he regret it forever. Since then he never played this Game again, and i know he would love it. But he refuses to play it, because i payd money for some Mercs etc and he says its unfair.

And its very Frustrating to play a match and have a Lvl1 Player in who really is lvl 1. You don’t want to Votekick, because you think its not fair, he tries but in the same breath you say, i can try as hard as i can, we will not make it.

So i would like to see a change that ppl who are under lvl 3 are Filtered to just Max Lvl 5 Servers.

Let me hear your Opinions!

some people prefer to play with people of higher skill levels as for many it’s easier to learn from mistakes when getting smashed :smile: so if anything it’d need to be an option but not be autofiltered :wink:

Prioritized for Max Level 5 servers, certainly if that isn’t implemented yet. But there are only so many of them. There isn’t always gonna be free space.

So i play on the wrong times. Always when i play, i check the Server Browser and filter for empty Servers first, so i can join a server and make some trickjumps before it begins, but i always have to scroll halfway down before servers without Max lvl 5 really start to pop up.

Yeah thats fine and all, but thats why i said, like lvl 3 for free access to the other servers. Some like learn hard, but lets face it, its not the majority!

Some games do that, makes sense enough to me. Only thing I’d worry about is whether or not it would deplete the player pools significantly for the other servers, what with this being a free to play game, one of the major features of that model I always thought was having an abundance of players in the servers, even though a lot of them are probably gonna be done with the game soon enough. Not saying it would destroy player distribution economy, it’s just one of the few reasons I can see to be cautious of it. Hey you know, maybe if the game does really well in the future they’ll put that in. I dunno.

All level 5 and under should be put into a level 5 minimum server if they quick join. Its pretty silly that people who have been playing for hundreds of hours are put into the same match as someone who is playing their first match. I doubt that new player is having any fun going 0/25.

AFAIK quickjoin prioritizes min/max lvl servers for the matching lvls. however it will only put you on servers that already has players noone would likes to end up on an empty server when you hit quickjoin, right.

Forcing new players into max lvl server isn’t a good idea. they are there for those that want to discover the game at a slower pace. If they feel ready for the real game they should be able to join an open server no matter the level.

The example the OP brought up is a good argument for that.
His friend wanted to play with him. OP could have very well told him that he might wanna try a few rounds on the max 5 servers first. On the other hand if his friend had previous experience in a similar shooter he could have gived him a short rundown on the differences and he very well might be ready for the game as a lvl1.
forcing max 5 servers. Wouldn’t allow you, to play with your friend in the first place.
And it would force very good lvl 1. Players to curfstomp newbs for the first 5 lvls. who will get even more frustrated if that happens in the newb zone.

I got paired with at least 10 lvl 2-5s today. I would very much prefer them to stay in low-level servers. I had a level 2 skyhammer who’s aiming was terrible and was completely wasting their strike, as well as not dropping ammo (which is almost as bad as medics that don’t revive… ever)

You shouldn’t even be able to go into servers that aren’t Max Level 5 until you reach level 5
Some people will cry and complain, but level 5 is doable in only a handful of games. At least by level 5 you have a decent understanding of the game.

Throwing off topic: Raise the competitive level ffs. Level 7 at least.

Yes please. Most level 1 players haven’t done the tutorial… Just wandering around (Not sprinting) and sitting in those mounted MG’s till the game is over.

I did that, but he plays Battlefield alot and thought he could handle this Game.
Sure good Lvl 1 Players can really dominate a Server but you know what? If he is this good he stays under lvl 3 (the level i said should be min for the other Servers) for less than an Hour and can join other servers.
And i don’t think that a lvl 1 players really cares if he gets stomped by a low or a high lvl.
All you see at this point is that you get killed over and over and you can’t connect any of your Shots.
