For the last time Brink is not cod

I am f***ing sick and tired of people treating brink as one of the usually terrible shooters. It is not. It is meant to be revolutionary. Please people judge brink for what it is not what call of duty says it should be.

I agree with what you’re saying but the post is kind of lost here. Most of the people who read this will know what brink is all about and those that want it to be cod will not be swayed.

F%*k them fools. Let them buy the game and put more money in SD’s wallet. As long as they trade/sell their copies the online community will still thrive and all the lone wolf hero wannabes will have been weeded out.

For the last time Brink is not cod

Well that explains why I can’t seem to eat it with a bit of lemon juice. Thanks for clearing that up!

I have alot of fun in BRINK  but my aim is really bad D:

and its seem like operative don’t have much to do compare to other classes, spent most of the time running from objectives rather than actually helping.

I was a long time RTCW/ET player and ET beta tester, so I am looking forward to a return to this. That said, I also like COD (post COD4) for different reasons. I seem to be in the minority, but being familiar with ET gameplay, I am not expecting anything drastically different. That said, it will be an adjustment to the damage part of the game with grenades, mines, no headshot kills etc. as I played COD in HC mode.

Both games have their strengths and I see both sides Pros/Cons of each. I too see the same blather from fanboys all over other sites expecting “COD” type play and it is annoying. Would have been nice to see a separate PC forum, since playing PC vs. console is a totally different experience generally.

So far the only bad reviews i have read/watched seem as if the reviewer wanted the game to be CoD and had no idea what the game was actually about. All the reviewers who knew quite a lot about the game and judged it fairly gave it solid marks, a lot of 8s with some 9s in there

I myself am getting sick of many other shooters. You die way too fast in them, headshots are often too easy, there is too much flanking and too much getting shot in the back, and it’s simply not accesible to anyone with how much practice it takes to get ‘good’ at them.

I played tons of Bad Company 2, but at least you don’t die in 2 seconds like in Crysis 2’s multiplayer or Homefront’s multiplayer. I clocked 500 hours in it, and it’s starting to get a bit old; but I still enjoy it. Team Fortress 2 is starting to get old too, I am not having any fun in it; nothing has any impact or satisfaction. I love shooters, may it be for singleplayer or multiplayer purposes. But I find myself getting sick of people treating this game like it’s crap simply because it doesn’t have the same repackaged ‘conquest’ or ‘capture the flag’ game modes we always see. I know that the pros of a lot of shooters is that they are easy to understand and get in to, but I am getting sick of people lone wolfing and the lack of a genuine squad gameplay in shooters these days. It’s not fun. I have most fun when I am fighting with others, it feels more epic.

Brink is a genuinely satisfying game; the shooting is satisfying, the reloading is satisfying, everything is satisfying, even simply healing or buffing a teammate. There is impact from recoil when you fire a gun, they sound badass and impressive. The SMART system is fun, even for heavy body type characters, you can still jump and vault over waist-high obstacles. I do agree that the biggest problem are the big, huge ‘corridors’ where stalemates often occur, and the rampant performance issues on PC especially for ATI users like myself. But this game seriously CANNOT be as bad as IGN or some of those critics are saying!
