For future reference with these event cases

Please do the following

  • Make these cases ONLY drop in competitve mode
  • Make them guarantee a event edition card, there’s 153 cards and more coming, I fail to see how this would be a problem.

This solves two problems, give people a reason to play competitive, and gives them a reward that’s special and makes it worthwhile investment should they get a card with good augments.

No.

You know what - I don’t normally agree with suggestions being “let’s limit this to competitive only”, because I feel people should choose what to play… BUT, for this… I actually agree. Nice suggestion

(blisteringOwlNest) #4

@Hibbsan any reason you don’t agree?

(Potato_Ladder) #5

After they have fixed competitive in Asia and Australia, YES PLEASE.

(watsyurdeal) #6

Hopefully this is an incentive for them to do so.

Competitive is actually really damn good, but it needs a lot of love for it to reach it’s potential.

Forcing people to play competitve is just stupid to begin with. You shouldnt have to play competitve just to be part of an event. And that every case have a 100% chance of containing a limited card is pretty bad as well. That means you could easily farm them in competitve and in the end everyone would have 100+ limited cards. Kinda takes away the point if you ask me. They can increase the drop rate for them, sure. But never make them 100% drop rate. And i’m already sure they would never do something like this since the Dirty Bomb developers need to earn money. No one would be buying Limited edition cases if you can just farm the Limited edition cards in competitve.

Going from what you suggest, I’d change it a little bit.
Instead of limiting the event cases to competitive mode make 2 types of cases, non-competitive and competitive cases with the latter have 10 times the chance for event than the other. For example now all dropped event cases have 0.3% (?) chance of giving you an event card, that would mean competitive cases would have a 3% chance.
This way it will not lock out the people who don’t like to play competitive but still give an incentive to others to play competitive mode more.

Edit: Maybe this could be applied to the regular cases too, better regular cases from competitive.

No. Until there is no team-matchmaking and comp is either you getting stomped by premade teams or you stomping an enemy team with an afk.

(RyePanda) #10

Competitive missions were bad enough, I don’t think we need this or else everyone would want to play competitive.

(MarsRover) #11

Yeah, this would be repeating the situation with competitive missions. Also new players wouldn’t be able to get the cases at all due to level restriction.

The only solution there is to make a separate que for solo teams and people playing together.

But the reality is if that people start playing together, even though they do not know each other, then you will get the EXACT same effect. One team is communicating better than the other and therefore stomping the hell out of them.

And not only that, we split the ques and then the lower player population is even MORE so for competitive.

The only other option I can see to make this concept work is to make these cases 10000 credits, and have people save up, these cases guarantee event cards, but simply cost more.

Because until we add trading this whole event card thing is absolutely ridiculous. Nevermind the people who spend the money to get them, the fact that it’s all RNG for the type of card, on top of ANOTHER layer of RNG for what augments you get, is very anti player.

I fail to see how that’s a problem, this game is meant to be a competitive shooter is it not? You guys want more balanced teams do you not?

Then freaking play it, so you’ll get a rank and be properly sorted with people within your skill level.

Sooner or later, Nexon will have to realize that you can’t monetize a game like this. They had multiple games they monetized badly, but they were terrible to begin with, THIS game has real potential, they are just not playing their cards right.

The RNG has to go, completely, especially for real dollars. Cases are maybe fun once in a while, just for lolz, but if you want to allow non-paying players to get access to your whole content and all the cosmetics, RNG is the wrong way to go. RNG always frustrates the player and a frustrated player is not good for the game.

In addition to that, skins need to be a real reward for paying money. Special Event skins even more so, as you will be able to show off with them in 2 years.

So 6000 people playing competitive just for cases, sounds like a repeat of those competitive missions to me.

Although it would make it actually possible to find a game of comp , since i mainly play solo 99% of the time and since the comp missions removal I can no longer find games within 1-2 minutes (most im willing to wait due to limited playtime)

Although a Solo Que filtering for comp is a must! and I will agree to that

(DadoPeja) #15

Well actually if/when they wanna test more competitive, then why not make only comp case, everybody will play, they will get lots of info, maybe make it 2 weeks- but only then!

(CCP115) #16

Increasing the drop rate from 0.3 to something actually reasonable would be a great start.

It’s like saying to all dedicated players who want to support the game “Hay spin the wheel to see if you get a token that shows how long you’ve been dedicated to this game”.

Or you know, spend a ridiculous amount of money. I didn’t get a single CW card, and that annoys me because somewhere out there is a new player who just joined and instantly got a CW card.

People seemed to complain when a lot of low level players were in competitive. So, this just seems to cause that complaint to reoccur.
