As a new player who has been proficient at sniping before what are the advantages and disadvantages to Vassili and Aimee?
For an Experianced sniper at other games who should I buy first?
Sniping in Dirty Bomb is more difficult that in other games, or so I’ve heard, so it might be a good idea to save up your credits and wait until some snipers are on the free rotation to try out before committing to buying one.
Of the two, I’d choose Aimee, she has a more effective abability if you know how to use it, though I’d try out both before you buy
If you were good at quickscoping on other games, then try Aimee. Vasili can do almost everything that Aimee does, but he’s a bit slower -but has more health.
In any event, enemies in dirty bomb move faster than in most other games, so it’s a different way of aiming -think railgun on the Quake series-, and you will do better to first adapt to the speed if you’re new, by playing a merc that can help the team: a medic -Sawbonez is a good idea-, an engineer -Bushwacker-, or one of the favourites for new players, Skyhammer -who can drop ammo and has an interesting special ability.
Once you’re used to the speeds of the game, try getting a mercenary with a Dreiss -it’s a semi automatic rifle, available with Kira, Arty and Redeye afaik-, and once you’re confident with it, buy one of the snipers. Both bolt-action and semi-auto are feasible, but the bolt-action are preferred and can kill with a headshot, but it takes longer between shots.
The differences: Aimee has a more interesting special ability that is very useful -not only does it spot enemies, it can also debilitate them and make them take 25% more damage-, however it is a bit more complicated to master -nothing too hard-, is a bit faster -so it is a better merc if you are good at quickscoping or at using railgun-like weapons, shooting while moving-, is a bit smaller -thus harder to hit from distance-, and has less health -90 if I’m not mistaken.
Vasili’s ability is a bit easier to use, but harder to make it as useful -you just throw a sensor ball, which is easy to spot and destroy by opponents, so you need to know where to place it so it can be of use-, is a bit slower -which means it’s a good idea to use it to hold angles and be a bit more passive than Aimee-, is a bit bigger with easier to see clothing -so you will be easily spotted-, has as much health as support mercs -110-, which means that in case of need you can actually go inside the objective to help. You’ll probably die, but if with that you get the point the team needs, you’ll be the hero.
Ok, that was much longer than needed or expected.
@DeMS Thanks.
Aimee it was. I didn’t do to bad 15/4 with one sample delivered. That’s a lot of information for someone with two posts.
Vassili is the better recon. His sensor detects better and doesn’t have to be set up in a specific way to be useful. He also has more health meaning you will survive some shots Aimee can’t.
Hi!
I think that the best recons are Aimee or Vassili but i prefer Vassili just because he doesn’t die to a sticky bomb.
That’s all i can say because the rest is own preference and be sure to watch some videos about them on youtube so you can see wich one you like more.
Hope this helped and see you on the battlefield!

Obviously Rhino is the best sniper. He’s got the most health, infinite ammo, and can easily hit headshots from across the map.
