I have made the alterations so that the map works for everyone hopefully.

I have uploaded it to PCGAMEMODS.

Version 2 info!

#. Fixed the missing textures.
#. Fixed the doors that where linked.
#. Did some alterations to the forward spawn flag.
#. Fixed the surface of the water to be 2 sided.
#. Made the banners not waving, to make them not show thrue the fog.

Very nice map Drakir - currently running on my server in the UK 80.253.114.253:27960 (blatant plug…)

I’m suffering from a piss poor ISP at the moment, so I can’t get http:// redirection to work at the moment :banghead: so dl it before joining please :angry:

Anyway…

The tank flips through 180 degrees (twice) as it passes the MG42 tower just past the first spawn - looks a bit odd.

Other than that, very nice mate, well done. (gay banana moment coming up…) :banana: (I did warn you)

VERY nicely done.

thoughts:

-remove the swastikas. Please, man, we want other people in germany to be able to play it, too.

-the fires on the broken plane should hurt you.

-The door at the broken plane isn’t long enough.

edit: oh, and also, some of the doors open the wrong way. If you have the knob on the left, it shouldn’t open the opposite way… ;D

Another quick mention - if (as axis) you drop some dynamite on top of the truck (with the objective in it - rear doors built) it will fall through and not let you arm it :banghead:

Edit: I may sound like I’m a picky bugger…

There are several missing textures:

all the “heads” for the small stumps along the tank route;

the underside of the lamps in the courtyard (in which the objective is to be found);

Also the barbed-wire is satchell-able and all of the courtyard (including stone pathways) is landmine-able. These may be features of course!!

  • dynamite dropped near the satchel charge-able side fence disappear even though you still can arm it. No sound is heard though.
  • Forward spawn flag still not showing up on com map.
  • Some blue/red/green vertices wireframe line showing up in the town.

Just one suggestion, can you make it so the barb wire blocking the axis access to the town is already build at the start of the game and only destroyable by dynamite. Once destroyed, the barb wire can still be rebuilded.

This map looks impressive, I think it should be able to create some nice battled in multiple places. I’ve put it up on my server rotation (servername is Billskirnir), and it’s on http redirect so the dl speed depends on your isp only.

One possible glitch, when you’re in the tank and moving on the runway, the tank “backs” up a “meter” or so when you pass the tower, and then continues forward.
Planting at tank barrier 2 makes no warning sound.

Well, at the runway, the tank moves from the left to the right, even if it’s a straight road? Looks kinda unrealistic to me.

Even more so since a real tank would probably just cut straight over the grass, then fire into the building and not bother to go all the way around. But I still think it seems nice so far, we’ll see how it works tonight when the server starts filling up.

After playing it all morning I am liking it more and more, really great map imo. But I can’t keep from wondering, when Rhine came out my opinion was that the swastikas did not have a place in the game, banners with them is really not needed and in my opinion could be seen as offending, but here it is only a replica of an actual ww2 plane. Is German law so strict that is not allowed to be shown ? I’m just curious here since I’m not German myself.

Really, nice map…

i found a small thingy tough,
If you walk on the allies “spawn bridge” you’ll see something sticking out, it is a part of the bridge offcourse, but if you hop on it, and you duck, 9 chanches outta 10 you get stuck, maybe you can do something to it

  • No sound when knocking on Axis doors :smiley:
  • Looks really good, but FPS is low almost everywhere (not as bad as worst areas on Radar, but lower than the other stock maps)
  • Objectives on the limbo screen are wrong
  • No explosion when airplane is blown
  • I get these colourful “things” in several places:

Hmm, I have two more minor items I’ve noted, not sure if they really are bugs or if I just should ignore them :slight_smile:

Firstly opening door at axis spawn makes no sound, not sure if this is the same as Sauron mentioned but anyway…

Second, other maps usually loads with a statusbar (or am I remembering completely wrong here?), but flughafen sort of just stands at the “between-maps-in-campaign-europe-map” for a while and them bam, you’re in game and the round has started, no countdown timer as the other maps? Are there any special scripts that prevents warmup on this map ?

I hope this makes any sense, otherwise you’re welcome onto the server to see for yourself, should you have time and feel for it.

There are no special things that prevents warmup! Only thing i can think if is that the map i rather large and takes some time to load with all the textures and stuff.

And for the door at Axis respawn that many have mentioned, i have made them to not make any sound because when a full team spawn and everyone is going out it makes a horrible sound. And by the way, not all doors make sounds. I dont have 1 door at home that make any sound when i open em :smiley:

Sauron, those colourful little arrows indicate models that can’t be found.
IE drakir has accidentally missed something.

Were they custom models Drakir, or is this a conversion from RTCW by any chance? I have a fair few of the little axes to sort out meself :slight_smile:
