Dlight is a dynamic light. It is not compiled into your lightmap.

In the dlight entity settings, there are a lot of predefined styles for how the light intensity flickers. A-Z is the range of full intensity to off. So style 18 will flicker off and on with no value in between. Something around style 11 I think works pretty good for a flickering fire.

You can also make up your own style.
The rest of the entity info is pretty self-explanatory. You can use alertentity to turn this light off and on in the script.

Hmm, so if I have a fireplace and I want to add a flickering light, I add a Dlight entity? Didnt know that!

Is there a way to make the flicker-area bigger?

Just increase the radius of the light.

Ah, ok so Dlight has to be used with a normal light entity? Phew, I was just about the compile my map :stuck_out_tongue:
