Flickering Light Problem

I have a light, not a dlight. It’s only keys/values:

{
"scriptname" "light_white"
"targetname" "light_white"
"light" "300"
"origin" "380 -538 248"
"classname" "light"
}

And… it flickers. As in flickery badness when I want solid light. It’s just floating in air, not intersecting anything… but it just flickers. Quite anoying! Nothing in my script controls it either.

Why does it have a target and scriptnames then? :slight_smile: Did you try it without those?

I give pretty much everything a scriptname and targetname, just so I can find it later in the entities list.

But that quite odd, it works without those values.

If you give them script and targetnames it might add them in game. Some entities are only in Radiant and are used during compile. I’m not sure how many it could add up to, but you may want to check. I know info_null, lights, func_groups, and misc_models do not add to the in game count. In RTCW, the command in dev mode is /entitycount.
