I can consider myself as a good fletcher player, and because I saw already a few posts about how to use fletcher, here is my little guide:
1.Fight in CLOSE QUARTERS: Fletcher’s sticky bombs can’t be launched too far, so try to avoid long range encounters.
2.Make BAITS: One of the main things to not get destroyed as fletcher, is make baits by making some follow you, by shooting them a bit, and hiding, this will end in a close quarters combat, giving you the advantage, except if it is a rhino, NO RHINOS IN CLOSE QUARTERS
3.Hit n’ Run playstyle : One of the main differences between fletcher and for example nader, is that you need to detonate the bombs, you will need extra time to do this, so in a gun fight, throw a sticky and as soon as you can, detonate it, it will reach the target in a close quarters gun fight, so don’t worry, it won’t explode in your face. If you MISS a STICKY BOMB, RUN, if you sticked it to someone, keep fighting, except if it is a Rhino, in that case use corners to your advantage, and stick another one. One important thing that you need to do is a lot of parkour, stickies doesn’t get affected by accuracy, then are 100% accuracy, so bounce of walls, to make you a hit target and learn how to do Long Jumps.
- USE LOADOUTS WITH THE EMPIRE 9!: The empire 9 is pretty terrible at medium to long range, since it is a machine pistol, but as fletcher, you will be fighting at close ranges, and this weapon does a great job at short range, and once you stick a sticky to someone, and after detonating it, you will leave your target at low HP, this weapons due to his super RoF (rate of fire) can finish the target pretty quickly. Overall GREAT
5.Try to PREDICT the ENEMY MOVEMENTS: Just imagine when and where the enemy that is following you is going to appear, make a mental image of where is he right now, if he/she is following you. This will require practice
6.Always run with your stickies out: This will help you to sticky someone that appears in front of you, and NEVER EVER PRESS Q TO THROW THE STICKIES, IS WAY FASTER TO PRESS 4 AND GO WITH THE STICKIES OUT
7.Loadouts that I’d recommend: Shotguns—> A31: Double time, just fits the playstyle of fletcher, the HIT N’ RUN
playstyle that he has, tough is pretty good, considering that you will be running alone, without a pocket medic, and lock on will help you explode the bombs faster, 0,03s faster than with quick draw.
Shotguns--->H63: It is the best loadout with the Hollunds, but, since the fix Lock On, either lock on or quick draw is a must have, but if someone is a fan of this shotgun, this loadout has great perks, explodydendron always nice, double time great, and drilled pretty fantastic, one of the main problems with this loadout is the weaponry, as fletcher, how I explained, the empire 9, and this loadout has the simeon, so I'd recommend anyone dealing with this loadout, go with the A31 if you like shotguns.
SMGs---> Before starting, I'd like to say that, I'd recommend new fletchers to use the blishlok for the extra range, giving extra versatility to medium to long range. Loadouts that I'd recommend: BL33: Tough very good for what I said before, for the lone wolf playstyle of fletcher, Flying pig, specially usefull in this merc, for his Hit n' Run playstyle, and the fact that you will be escaping from situations a lot, so this will give you the ability you jump off places, without killing yourself, and quick draw, that will help you a lot detonating the bomb, by rasing the detonator earlier, and will help you raise and lower your weapons, that can be good as fletcher, to swap to the sticky bombs.
SMGs--->BL32:Fail safe can be good, since you are going to get hurt a lot from your own explosives, for sticking someone too close to you and detonating it. Springy since the last patch is now great for fletcher, it gives you the ability to avoid a bunch of explosives and making you faster in general. And lock on to detonate bombs faster, but it won't help you raising your weapons, but it is slighty better than quick draw to detonate bombs.
- ??? Profit. Have fun.
