Fletcher vs Fragger vs Phantom: Which do I pick?

I have over 50,000 credits. What loadouts I have are irrelevant. These are the three characters I am choosing between getting, so who do I get? I am a kind of Jack-of-all-trades and able to fill any role. As an example, the characters I do own are Proxy, Rhino, and Sawbonez. So, which do you guys recommend? Please tell me your personal pros and cons for them.

Phantom, although probably considered a recon, is more of an assault, and one of the best if considered so. Fragger does beat Phantom in direct combat by a long shot however, and is capable of clearing an entire room with one grenade. I personally don’t like Fletcher, his shotguns are not the best, and he is not effective at direct contact. I think Fletcher is more of a flank engineer. It depends on whether you want direct combat or flanking and picking people off. If you want full out direct combat, Fragger is your guy, Phantom is good at flanking and picking people off one by one. Fletcher is good for flanking as well, but I think less efective at combat than Phantom.

Alright, yeah. As I was thinking it over, I ruled out Fletcher as my kind of character, so now it’s between Phantom and Fragger. Be a giant prick to the enemy team or blow people up? I don’t know, not like there’s a guarantee I’ll be good with Phantom. Another concern I have is whether or not Phantom will be nerfed soon, and if so, how badly? That’s the biggest concern I have.

As for buying Phantom? I’d suggest you wait, he’ll be in the next free rotation. Which changes on Wednesday, or should.

Fragger is solid every single game. Fletcher is very hard to play but rewarding if you can, Phantom can get shut down if you play against better players.

Fragger is the safest pick.

BUT I’m pretty sure he’s still being given out for free so don’t waste credits.

Welp, nevermind. Phantom’s not in the next free rotation, which is unusual as new mercs always tend to be in the next rotation after their release. But, with the shitstorm around Phantom, I guess this isn’t too surprising.

Anyway, new rotation is Fragger, Fletcher and Arty. So you’ll at least get to try out Fletcher, I guess.
