Flag objective not collected when touched

I’ve been putting in dual objectives into my map, and it’s all working fine, apart from I have to press the action button to pick up the item. Even if I drop it I can’t walk into it to collect it again, but “actioning” it collects it. I’m sure there’s a simple thing wrong, but can’t find what!!!

Do I need to define some collision area for it? I tried a brush with an origin and turning it into the flag but that didn’t work!

What model are you using? Maybe try a bigger one, or the ones from radar as a test.

i think this is often a problem within ET not your map, the size of the model dosnt matter, the pickup is the size opf the ctf flag you put in

What happens when you run over med and health packs in the same game environment? Do you automatically pick those up or do you have to +activate to grab them?

I think there’s an game option.
Not sure which one.
I’ve had this problem on stock maps also.

That is strange. Try seeing if this problem recurrs while playing a clean install of ET.

OMG! Yes, Ifurita, I can’t even pick up medpacks without +activate!! If I start a normal server though it all works fine.

I’ll have to work out how to start my level out of devmode to see if it’s just a devmap problem. I can’t seem to see my map in the list at the moment, so I’ll just have to search this Forum to find out what to do!

Bring down the console, type cg_autoactivate 1.

Should fix it.

[ Ahh, so to get it selectable as a normal map you need the .arena file. ]

And it does look like just a devmap bug as running it as a normal server has it all working fine.

Typing \cg_autoactivate 0 and then \cg_autoactivate 1 also seems to get it working again in dev mode too.
