Fixing the Grandeur and Dreiss, for good.

My proposed changes are as follows

Grandeur

  • Reducing max spread by x% (goal: to allow players to be able to hit the body and limb in close range situations, but maybe not consistently hit them in the head)
  • Reducing Initial Spread by x% (goal: to allow players to 100% accurately hit a target the size of a head, at the weapon’s max range)
  • Reducing bloom per shot, so it takes exactly 3 shots to reach maximum bloom
  • Reducing the time it takes for spread to return to it’s initial starting point by x% (this is to encourage people to wait between shots, for guaranteeing you’ll be able to hit the headshot, assuming the player is accurate)
  • Reducing the horizontal climb for recoil by 50%
  • [*] Added an ACOG sight to the gun
  • Reduce damage to 38
  • Reduce clip size to 12

Dreiss

  • Reducing max spread by x% (goal: to allow players to be able to hit the body and limb in close range situations, but maybe not consistently hit them in the head)
  • Reducing Initial Spread by x% (goal: to allow players to 100% accurately hit a target the size of a head, at the weapon’s max range)
  • Reducing bloom per shot, so it takes exactly 6 shots to reach maximum bloom
  • Reducing the time it takes for spread to return to it’s initial starting point by x% (this is to encourage people to wait between shots, for guaranteeing you’ll be able to hit the headshot, assuming the player is accurate)
  • Added a EO Tech sight to the gun
  • Reduce damage to 25

These changes should make the Grandeur and Dreiss much more consistent with hipfire accuracy and shots, allowing players to more easily kill with them. No more randomly missing because your shot went too far off center, and no more trying to guess and figure out how long you need to wait between shots before you can hit something again.

Essentially these guns will be more akin to lasers, that’s the trade off you get for using guns with smaller clip sizes, and slower rates of fire. Skilled players will be able to do work with these, as there is very little randomness to them. You point these at something, and they are going to hit it.

Plus, since the DPS is similar to the M4 they will be far from op or overstepping on them. These guns need to be consistent anyhow considering that a. this game is dominantly hipfire, and b. their main draw is being able to kill people in less headshots, at longer distances.

As for sights, I was thinking something like these would do nicely.

I like your changes for the most part. I will say I’d prefer the damage be kept where it is on the grandeur and the recoil unchanged with the clip reduction to compensate, because making it take 1 more shot to kill most mercs isn’t worth the changes to spread unless very substantial imo.

It won’t be

38 damage is plenty to 2 shot kill EVERYONE except Thunder and Rhino, and 38 * 3 is 114, so enough to kill everyone that has 110 hp or less, that’s more than plenty. Though DPS calculation is tricky, since the way I calculate it is different. I take 1000, divide it by the fire interval, then add 1.0, since otherwise it doesn’t account for the initial shot.

But for the most part, things should be fine, the Grandeur and Dreiss should be much more accurate, and you’ll find yourself missing less shots due to the spread getting too wide to reliably hit anything.

the only problem i find with these weapons is that sometimes by hitting arm/leg i need to shoot skyhammer 4 times, with dreiss, well… my aim

The main thing that needs to change is giving these guns those scopes, i would use them for sure then.

In my opinion Dreiss is at a pretty fine spot where it is. It’s simply overshadowed by burst rifles that are currently a little stronger than the rest of the guns. I mean why pick Dreiss when the merc got access to BR-16 or Stark?

The thing I’m worrying about is that once burst rifles get nerfed and people learn the power of Dreiss and realise its value it will simply get nerfed to uselessness again and it won’t be played for another half a year.
Dreiss is one of my top guns and my performance with it is pretty much on par with M4.

I never really thought about the sights on guns, but for 2020, the current sights we got on guns seem rather lousy to be honest.

this doesn’t fix anything except make it easier for baddies to shoot it.

Dreiss doesn’t really need a sight since it’s not a sniper rifle. Unless they remove it from Arty and Kira I don’t think it needs a good sight (unless it can be done so only Redeye has the sight on it)
Other than that everything looks nice

I only really want a faster fire rate on the Dreiss, Around 15-30 could do it, maybe even knock damage back down to 26 if need be, and it would still possibly be an ornamental meme gun. On the Grandeur I think first they need non-ass sights for it, then they can start balancing once it’s actually possible to extract the full potential from the gun.
