(*FIXED*) The game won't launch (*possible fix in thread*)

So I see a few people having the same issue as me where the game will not launch anymore no matter what you do.

It’s like whenever I try to launch Dirty Bomb it says to my steam friends that I play it for 2-3 seconds before it just goes back to being online. In that time absolutely nothing has happened on my screen.

Last time I played Dirty Bomb was the 2nd of December and it launched just fine without any problems whatsoever, then I tried again two days ago (19th of December) and it doesn’t work anymore.

Now it will not launch no matter what, I tried to verify game cache, tried to reinstall the game, checked the logs (still dated 2nd of December when I last successfully launched the game), tried running steam as admin and then run Dirty Bomb, but nothing is helping.

I have Windows 10 and have had it for months now and Dirty Bomb worked fine even on Windows 10 back in very early December, so I doubt that’s the problem.

How do I fix this?

Actually a tech person from Nexon helped me and it works again now.

For anyone with the same problem, here’s what worked for me:

Reboot your computer in safe-mode with networking and try to launch Dirty Bomb. When that is done, even if it didn’t launch (didn’t for me), restart your computer again but this time the usual way. Try to launch Dirty Bomb again and see if it works now.

How do I Reboot my computer in safe-mode

Easiest way is just holding in shift while clicking “power” and choosing restart on your computer if you’re on Windows 10.

The computer will reboot and you will get a couple of options. Click “troubleshoot”.

After that two new options will pop up, click “advanced options”.

Even more options will pop up now, but you’re just going to click on “startup settings”.

Once you have clicked on startup settings, you will get some information, just click “restart” in bottom right corner.

Once it reboots this time, you will be on the startup menu. You’ll have a couple of options, but because you want your computer to reboot in “safe-mode with networking” you need to click F5.

And then the rest is just pretty standard, just log onto your user and try to launch Dirty Bomb. It it works good, if not doesn’t matter. Just restart your computer like you always do after that and see if Dirty Bomb will launch now.

There’s a couple of guides around the internet too, if you still wonder how to reboot your computer in safe mode.

I have tried to boot my pc in safe mode with network about 5 times. When in safe mode i can open the game but when ever i try to open the game again in normal mode the game wont launch

Hey I have tried all of the solutions several times and have looked all over the web to try and fix my issue but i still cannot launch the game and havent been able to since May

If it does work in safe mode with networking…do i have to keep entering safe mode with networking EACH time i want to play DB ??

No. You have to enter safe mode with networking once.
Then reboot normally and everything should be fine.

If it still doesn’t work, you’re gonna have to contact customer support. Explain that you’ve already tried my method otherwise they’re just going to suggest you try that.
