[FIXED] Error 2

since the last update i recieve this error message everytime i try to start DB via the launcher…
Worked fine before.

I tried so far reinstallation of the gameclient and of the launcher after removing all data even the one in “appdata”
i run the launcher via “administrator” and i also gave myself all ownership of the data in the game folder.

I’m out of guess here

Try to disable your anti-virus, then repair the installation. The error:2 message pops out for me after every av scan of entire pc, I have my av set to automatic removal of suspicious files and it deletes DB’s .exe file, that in turn causes the error: 2.

Didnt work… exe is there, files are repared, anti virus is shut off. nothing…

On the old nexon forums I found 2 threads about the same exact problem, and in one of them the solution was to:

  1. close AV
  2. repair files
  3. game should work, but don’t start up AV until you’re finished playing.

So exactly the same thing I told you about. The other one had no solution posted. Here are links to the threads:

Yeah this error was appearing due to the antivirus issue. To solve it you disable the antivirus program, then start the game up and when you receive the error again you go into the quarantine section and restore the Dirty Bomb file. Hope it works for you.

Got it fixed now! Was not the fault of my AV third party scan, it’s the windows own implemented defender. My AV had a exception for all DB files whilst the Windows Defender complitly ignored them. Eveything’s up and running now. Thanks for the advices!

  1. download launcher from here: http://games.nexon.net/nexonlauncher/
  2. install and run launcher
  3. log in
  4. Go to the “Games” tab (upper left corner) or right click on Nexon’s laucher icon in the toolbar (lower right corner probably) and choose “Games”.
  5. Choose Dirty Bomb
  6. Press huge green button “Redeem Beta Key” or if you already did it’ll say “Download”. That’s it.

Also make a separate threads in the future because your issue is not at all similar to the OP’s one.

As this is an issue that is avoidable and due to reasons that not everyone has the option to just deactivate their AV or make exceptions within the AV that’s an issue that should be fixed soon. There many people out there who’d instantly uninstall if the game is announced as a trojan D:

I completely agree. I’ve been pestering the game team about this and have been assured it will be resolved soon.

Hi, of course i read this AFTER i started up the game with my av up and running. I’ve read the comments above and want to try the fix, but i don’t know how to “repair files” as is suggested. Do i have to re-install to repair the files or is there another way to do this? Thanks!

For everyone else, just start the launcher as usual, rightclick on dirty bomb and then select repair gamefiles.
