Fix your fucking competitive match making.

I always have 100+ ping trying to play competitive in west coast. It seems like you guys literally have no support for the west coast players. Its honestly really annoying too when I have 80 ms download and 15 ms upload. Its complete horse shit.

Matchmaking isn’t the same as ping…

No shit, But you have ping when your in matchmaking fucking idiot. Meaning if you have over 100 ping then the server is being hosted in another country.

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. I don’t play comp myself, mostly because there’s too much work for pretty much no reward aside from an arbitrary rank.

First of all, stop sounding like an asshole and follow the DB motto of “Don’t be a dick”. Second of all, the game tries to match you as close to home as possible, if there aren’t any suitable games then it has to spread further afield to find people for you to play with, it would rather get you in a game quickly in a further away server than to have you waiting 10+ mins to get you into a closer game… which just means you’d be here whining like a little bitch that comp takes too long to find a game.

So this leaves a small number of scenarios. 1: There aren’t many people in your area queueing for a comp game. 2: Your skill rating is too low to match you with the ones that are waiting in your area. 3: Your skill rating is too high and that would make it uneven. Given the current issues that keep users from playing comp mode I’d say it’s issue #1 which should hopefully get better once the skill rating system and match making become a better experience for everyone.

Remember brah, DBAD

Lastly, don’t use the incorrect “you’re” when calling someone an idiot, you look like a tool

Well, because right now we have slightly a less pool of players playing that’s why. I play on US West too, although it takes like 2-10min to search for a lobby, I still get good connection, just sometimes occasional lag spikes.

@Zudexa
Download/Upload speeds have nothing to do with ping, latency is what matters.

Technically it’s the route your ISP passes you along that affects this, the more hops you hit the greater the latency, but you are indeed correct. Most MP games use 20 - 30kbps transfer rate during a game, so even 512kbps oldskool ADSL connection can have a better ping than 200mb/200mb fibre depending on the network.

Gonna lock this due to obscene title and context, as well as OP’s response to user’s help.
