The description for the medic’s transfer supplies ability says that it will show you an indicator for who is low on supplies. Based on that description, I figured this would be a useful skill to have to help out my team… only to discover that no such indicator exist. I was forced to resort to soliciting my services over the mic several times during a match to see who is in need of pips. This would have worked much better if I could notice a small name of who is talking on the mic but I could not see that either. When someone called out that they were out of pips, I had to ask who it was that said that so I could identify them to throw supplies. I regret buying this ability based on this inconvenience and the false advertising for this skill. I know I can just respec my guy and spend it on metabolism instead but it’s the principle of it. SD need to amend this issue by making transfer supplies useful by patching in this said indicator.
Fix transfer supplies!
“soliciting my services” sounds dirty.
Respec
Although, supplies have been transferred to me by a savvy player enabling me to push forward and help secure a win before!
If it worked like they advertised then it would be more useful than metabolism IMO because you’re giving more than health to your teammates. I guess communication is my only solution but an indicator would be way better.

Medic in Brink is a sacrifice player. Ya got to put your neck out for your team mates and be willing to give away everything you have to do it. I choose Tactical Scanner for my Medic instead, so I can access a situation before rushing in heedlessly and get blasted because I need to stay upright to be any use to my team strength. I ended up mapping Laz, FRU, and Speed Boost and so have no room for Transfer Supplies. I may respec to get it based on the level of comp I am playing. I like to try everything out. Adrenaline is just as situational as Transfer Supplies in many ways.
honestly i have always looked at transfer supplies as useless, but recently i started playing with a heavy medic who spams ez nade. as a soldier, i didnt feel like wasting my pips every 20 seconds on his EZ nade.
so i started playing a match with him, and h was doing really well with the gun, and then i hear someone say “I GOT NO BULLETS!.” oh, good. i get to give him ammo. he ran up to me, and before i could even say a thing, i got the notification " **** has given you some supplies," and he said “there, now give me some ammo.”
so it works really well for him apparently.
the lack of a real voip indicator has got to be up there with the biggest brink fails. you have to actually see your teammate to know if its them talking. i haven’t thought of your situation with that particular skill but i see now how the problem is worsened.
brink philosophy = “teamplay without communication” or better yet, “teamplay by yourself”
imo the ability is crap. Who needs supply pips more then a medic? In most situations, no one.
I’ve had a lot of success transferring supplies to soldiers who then give it out in ammo. It’s a great way to burn supply for XP + ammo. But that only works with soldiers who hand out ammo. Transferring supplies to a soldier who then goes suicidal is a waste.

Yeah, good luck finding one of those. They would rather refill their own ammo first then yours.
It’s true: most of my extra supply goes to JJ’s heavy soldier. He never hoards the ammo.

Its also good for engie’s & medics ( give em a pip in return for a buff )
Everytime Junky tries to transfer me supplies, I tell him I don’t need no charity.

Now that’s what I call hilarious teamwork.
I wonder if SD left more of these lying around.
Either way, +1 reputation. That was awesome.
