Fix the core issues before spending time on mercs

(snappyFoundry) #1

It’s dumb to pump out these mercs without fixing the basics of the game, at it’s current state it’s very much something you’d consider a beta.

Fix the issues where you’ll be stuck throwing med packs/sticky bombs etc (it doesn’t switch back), when you get thrown out of a turret right after you get into it, and sparks not charging her rifle soon after you’ve switched weapons and for other random things.

(misspo) #2

Hi, they are doing alternate updates. Every 2 weeks you will have either a merc plus few fixes. And the next 2 weeks, you will have "fine update with only fixes.

(Amerika) #3

They also do bugfixes during merc releases as well. Also, most of the mercs have already been developed and don’t change from what they already were in the closed beta and most of the time require little dev work. So releasing a new merc doesn’t automatically mean no new features or bug fixes/balance changes.

Oh look, this thread again.

(snappyFoundry) #5

I wonder why it’s repeated over and over again… And SD isn’t doing anything about it, and probably won’t ever do anything about it. For them this game is just a quick cashgrab, considering they released this game in it’s current state.

Fletcher is unplayable due to the bugs.

They never “released” this game at all, it’s still IN beta, that’s something I feel you overlooked entirely. Most of the issues are being worked on, most of them are already well known by the dev team, in the coming weeks most of them will be fixed. If you think this game is a “cashgrab”(Even though everything you can get in-store you can get in-game) then you are mistaken.

A cashgrab is when you create a shit game without spending the resoureces to really making it good, with the intent of a short lived game, making people spend money on it while it’s “still in beta”. Then once it’s dead they won’t have to update the game, or have game servers up.

See now I’m confused, because right there on the Main Menu screen it says BETA BUILD… hmmm… if it were released why would it say that? Also they keep this game up to date VERY often, fixing bugs every couple of weeks and working extremely hard on keeping things working properly. Your pessimistic attitude doesn’t help and if you feel this game isn’t going anywhere then why drag yourself down by playing it? We will stay here enjoying this fantastic game and when it reaches full release you’ll come back to see how much better it is over the beta we have now.

If they’re keeping the game up to date and working properly, why are you so used to seeing the same complaints about the game issues over and over again?
This is a dead game, and the devs probably abandoned the game long ago. Most likely they just have 1-2 people working on it, to pretend like they’re actually doing something.

It also doesn’t matter what they’ve named their release, they have released it as non-beta, it’s marketed as a released game, thus it is a released game, and not a beta.

The last part is just funny, and I suggest you go to reddit with your fanboyism. Beta == fully released game at it’s final stage. I have not in several years seen any changes between a beta and a full release, what you have now is all you’re ever gonna get (apparently they’re just slowly releasing mercs to try to keep the game alive for some longer, to get more money out of it until they completely abandon it).

We’re use to seeing the same complaints because people like you don’t understand that it takes time to fix things, there has already been major improvements to this game and if you can’t see that then you haven’t played very long, or are not observant. In about a week we’ll see even more fixes to bugs, most of which are ones we see being talked about on the forums over and over. Also you clearly don’t understand what beta means, and I don’t believe I have time to explain it right now… basically, expect problems from a beta. If you don’t have the patience to wait around for things to be fixed in a few weeks then you wont have the patience to ever play a beta game, stick to retail in your case, that way you can get bugs that never get fixed because big companies already moved onto new projects.

The developers we have on this game work on it with a passion, they love their jobs and their creation, each and every one of them wants to see it performing flawlessly and so do we, we just have to be patient and understand that problems are bound to occur.

Because when this thread comes up, it isn’t a simple “This bug is still in the game after X period of time, please fix it” - it’s people saying that they should stop adding mercs until bugs are fixed. That’s all well and good, except as others have said, the mercs aren’t being created from nothing, they’re fine tuning existing creations that have been in the works for quite some time. You don’t just drop everything to fix bugs - you do both. Time (and resource) management works that way.

All this said, I just continued on to read some of your other posts and it’s obvious you’re just a troll.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about, and you’re clearly a fanboy.

The terms alpha and beta USED to mean something, alpha being the stage where you’re building up the crucial functions of the game, beta where you’re bug fixing and adding content, and figuring out game play.
This has changed, now alpha generally means you’re in a mid to late stage beta, “pre-alpha” often means either alpha, or beta. Nowadays a “beta” is pretty much the final version, only using beta as a “we’re gonna fix this game, we promise, so you can safely give us your money”.

They’re advertising it as released, they’ve used the status of released on steam to gain the benefits of being released. If they then go back on their word on being in beta now, then they’re breaking some ToS with steam.

There are two options for a game on steam. Released or Early Access.

By definition, this is not an early access game. Warframe was in beta for how many years before release, yet was marked as ‘Released’ on steam?
