Fix for server browser lag =D

FIX FOR SERVER BROWSER LAG

The “serverbrowser_hist.vdf” seems to be the culprit here.
Please browse to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata and perform a search for:

serverbrowser_hist.vdf

You should only have one show up.

For me, after deleting this file, the Brink server browser was now running at 60 FPS =D

EDIT: Confirmed working, thanks dude, server browser is working perfect!

This needs to get a stickied so other people can are able to see this post.

does not work for me, I moved the file to the desktop for safe keeping and when I launched the game with fraps I get 60 outside the browser and 11 inside

Thanks. Don’t have any lag at the server browser now.

Interesting. Homefront had the exact same issue with the exact same solution. This might be something the devs may want to look in to or at least bring to the attention of Valve.

Requesting sticky!

I edited this file to have no history entries and my fps in the server browser went from 2 to 350ish.

Thank you for posting.

This was brought to our attention yesterday by another forum member and we have addressed the issue. If you restart Brink the workaround should no longer be necessary.
