[FIX] ati performance - ADVANCED user - modded driver

(Awbee) #21

Friend tried the modded driver and he couldn’t star brink after because of the following error: “Your current video card / driver combination does not support OpenGL 3.1 or higher”

Now he tried to go back to driver version which kinda worked before and now that driver is giving very bad performance too. (yes he followed the instructions inside the guru3d thread to the point)

Had the same problems, see above. The language of the ATi installer turned also into portuguese or greek or something, even after i removed them. I recommend a driver sweep with phyxion driver sweeper, after that reboot and reinstall the wanted drivers. fixed it for me. best luck!!

yes! always use driversweeper after you unistall any drivers from your system.

after rebooting windows, go to “device manager” and check if your graphics adapter is “standard vga graphics adapter”. if not, you forgot something or did something wrong.

if theres “standard vga adapter”, you can install the drivers you want without any problems.

He used driver sweeper before installing the modded driver and before trying to go back to his old one.

Windows 7 seem to install its own ATI drivers at the boot, i can’t have the “standard vga adapter”

Also after the install, at the boot when the “finalize_optimisation” is launched, the catalyst control panel is never executed. I try many time, with different options.

you have to use driver sweeper in order to remove all driver leftovers from your machine. when you done that and you rebootet, windows should show “standard vga adapter”. it works for me and i also have windows7.

i got the same error with the final optimization. i dont know if its necessary. i dont think so actually, because you can choose to not install the CCC which i did, so it cant be launched in the final step. just close the window and you should be fine.

i have test it too and by now… it gives me the biggest improvements… at some points on the map stil the fps goes down to 20-25 fps… but most of the time its running smooth at 50-60 fps.

thx

Yes, I used it, but windows always install its own drivers at the boot.

(kilL_888) #31

usually, yes. but not after driversweeper i think.

what you also can try is to go to the device manager, uninstall the card (also check delete driver software for this device), run driversweeper again and restart. windows should now run in 800x600 at start and should not install any device.

when i install a new driver, i deinstall the ati installcenter, run driversweeper, then restart and windows doesnst install anything.
