First Wave of Great Brink Reviews Spawned

(oO Para oo) #21

If it turns out they with held more maps for paid DLC im returning it. 8 maps is not enough… no way after all its the same objectives time after time, bottle neck after bottle neck… repetitive?

16 good reviews… hmm. What about the bad reviews? How many are they? One? two, three? No? The bad reviews are over 9000. I am really disappointed

Why is the graphics bad and why does it lag? Where is the lobby? That is why you should have made a beta. But I guess that it’s too late.

Not a review, but a positive article nonetheless.

Please take note, there was only one American review site on there.

Coincidence? No. This country has become bad at video games.

(indirect) #25

Joystiq, and that review has been so criticized by some of the most well known professional game reviewers that the reviewer will probably be fired.

(Ramziez) #26

It’s so nice to see Brink get good review. Despite my litte BSoD problem the time I do get to play it I have an blast. It feels so awesome to slide around cover and shoot pepper someone in the chest with my tricked out SMG.

Just a bit of patching and this game will be one of my all time favorite FPS games.

Great reviews.

But I hope the developers don’t rest on their laurels and pay attention to the other end of the spectrum as well.

Constructive criticism can only make for a better game that everyone can enjoy.

I want to see a thread about the wave of bad reviews to counter-balance the wave of good ones.

Then we should play a game of how many times the reviewer compares Brink to CoD or Halo and laugh at them when they do.

Ars Technica has their PC impressions up.

this game is getting some of the worst reviews i’ve ever seen
i found it shocking that Sd could actually find that many good reviews to put on one page

i really want to like this game but when it’s broken in almost every regard on every platform…
you might want to give it a miss

metacritic ,which is the GAMERS review , not a company being paid for advertising by SD and therefore unable to give a unbiased review was the best score ive seen of 6/10

check player reviews, not CORPORATE entities that have already been paid millions in ad revenue by SD and Bethesda

this game has soooooo much potential but was released way to early and is simply broken

DONT TRUST THIS PAGE

look for your own reviews for the truth

Or play the game and make your OWN mind up, rather than being told how to think by a company, website or gamer, many of whom will have their own agenda… Just a thought

This is the kind of game where you have to play it and make up your own opinion.

The reviews are sooo varied on this game. Some dog it, some praise it.

(SK7109) #33

The Escapist is up with there reviews…

(Glyph) #34

I’m with goat on this one. Play the game and make up your own mind about the game. You do have a mind of your own, right?

such wise words are barely heard these days.

H0RSE always tells me you can’t spell IGNorant without IGN.

(totallyREEM) #37

see this is more like it, people with a clue about competetive fps reviewing the game rather than roleplay clowns crying because they unlocked everything in 2 days and cant grind an advantage over others anymore!

The game is spot on, fast paced and teamplay heavy, could go up there with the true greats like quake/ut if handled right.

(murtle52) #38

yes i do have a mind of my own and avoiding bashing people on here like you is one way i choose to exercise that mind, i’d rather try to illustrate a point rather than just simply cutting someone down , which to me shows a lack of intelligence.
oh wait , sorry thats your tactic i’m insulting …sorry

when i say look for your own reviews i should have said “make your own review”

better?

if you are going to let reviews dictate wether your going to buy a game , i think its much better to find player based reviews rather than corporate based ones (for reasons so obvious i don’t need to state)

also some people can’t afford to drop 50$ on a game without doing a little research into how it performs first. (and this game while delivering in gameplay promised, performs very poorly on most platforms)

dropping 50$ and then deciding whether or not it sucks is one way

i prefer to do a little research into player based reviews before i drop my hard earned cash

this was the first pre-order ive ever made going against my policy of waiting for a game to release and hearing feedback first, and i regret it to the extent that i will never pre order again

in other words don’t trust a page that says “buy it cause we say 5 outta 5”

my opinion (which is like assholes cause everybody’s got one)

is that this game could be epic but was released terribly broken and unfinished

i base that on my own gameplay

it helps to corroborate my opinion when every forum on this game is flooded with massive tech problems (waaay more so than the average launch)

having a mind of my own involves not following the herds that read the front page of this thread and say “wow i’ll buy this game it must be great based on these reviews”

i agree but the launch and subsequent technical problems prove that it was not handled right…shame because this could have been the new tf2
