First thoughts of the game

These are my first thought of playing the game for a little while on stream.

I love the character set-up you guys have however I feel each character should have at least 2 abilities so as to create enough difference between them. Some things you guys could implement is rocket launchers, a UAV blast, flamethrower, cloak, explosive ammunition, siege shields, poison gas, forward spawners and the list goes on. Their individual personalities and quirks are great.

The parkour mechanic seems like something you guys are just testing out and while it is an awesome feature it does feel a bit strange at the moment and kind of pushed into the game last minute. A couple of the maps would need serious re-workings for this feature to be useful. However if you guys really do push for this keep the visual notifiers but make the notifier something like a shoe print or a crack on the objects surface, something subtle.

Loading character portraits in the lobby is a little bit too slow and feels like its pulling from your servers. Not sure if that is the case but if it is please make this a client-side process and if it isn’t then this needs to be faster. Also on the character selection and portraits, it will make it a hell of a lot easier for new players if hovering over the icons popped up a small character info sheet with guns equipped and specials. Also for ease of use purposes it would be nice to have little icons or colours on squad portraits of your team showing what “class” they are. Would make it easier to quickly look through and choose characters for your squad.

The different map objectives thing you have is awesome. While it may only be small differences it makes the maps feel unique and keeps things interesting, keep at it. I also love the underground for some reason, I can’t quite put my finger on it but it may be that its just a really interesting and unique map.

The weapons feel awesome to use, however I feel the machine-guns are a little underpowered. Keep the crazy spray but up the weapons damage as I was getting out damaged by people with assault rifles at close range and I feel that this just shouldn’t happen (or maybe I’m just too used to CS:GO Machine Guns, lol)

Enemy spotting wouldn’t be a bad feature for the game either and this can be done multiple ways if you choose to add it in. The battlefield “Q” to spot for a short duration or the Counter Strike enemy shoots and shows up on the map as a red blip.

Anywho, the game is super fun in its current stage and I look forward to future updates.

I like your first paragraph, i share the same idea. Character variety by adding more particular items, to feel unique from other players and have varied team composition. I

Also agree with your thoughts on parkour gameplay. I think they are working on it, in the first place they want to see if players use it a lot or not much.

well i havent got beta key but i’m feeling that nexon is really f*#¤ing all up or that picture i’m geting from all revievs and videos or i just should stay on old splash damage’s legend (best of all games) wolfenstein et new generation has too much hipsternes :smiley: (not so et style things*) but i still whant to give splash damage chance to amaze me… again like ten years ago

SD disappointed a lot of people since W:ET, and they got a new public too. I think you should wait for a key and give thoughts on DB, but meanwhile you can still try a bit of Brink cuz it has kind of the same feel. Db is faster, smoother and the engine is nicer. If you ask me, i prefer Brink esthetic though, DB is artistically too shy to me.
I’m afraid DB fails just like Brink, but the way the beta is lasting is maybe a good sign.

+1, it’s hard to find in these new generation games the soul of this legendary game :wink: But I think DB is not so bad, if you do an effort to adapt a little bit :wink: It requires less skill (why auto-healing ??? why no strafe jumps ??? why a medic is able to repair an objective ???), but same amount of fun :wink:
