First reviews roll in and things are all over the place

We will see where things settle tomorrow, but it looks like I’ll be adjusting my score guess from a 74-84 to a 60-70. I have had some bad feelings about Brink the past few days, and I really am not sure why. There has just been an itching feeling that Splash Damage has been holding their game up to heights they knew they had not achieved. I will still be picking up my copy tomorrow because frankly some of these reviewers reviewed the game on 360 without the day1 patch(one reviewer said it helped immensely). That said, from known sites I have seen. Obviously some of them had the patched version and some did not.

I have had that itch too. Its just one of those sinking feelings. But regardless I will still pick it up because I played it at PAX and had a blast. Hopefully a shot of DLC will get put out there or some new playlists to end the “repetition”

Hopefully, reception of the pc version won’t suffer based on how the 360 version is reviewed.

pc version is flat out broken. poor framerates and laggy server browser. game is just not done.

they didnt demo the pc version because they couldnt. it doesnt work.

I have heard odd things about PC. some say it works like a dream and others say it doesnt work

I don’t understand their thinking. They obviously sent out review copies that were bad codes. Ara technica refused to review the game because the day 1 patch is coming and the graphics and networking codes on their current copy were utterly a mess.

I have this game for 360. The game runs very smooth and the movement is very good. It allows you to disable screen-bobbing which makes the game feel more smooth. If you liked the objective & class gameplay in Wolfenstein, then you will like this game.

Another review in from 1up and it’s a D. I don’t get why they didn’t decide to hold off their review for the day 1 patch.

The guardian says the single player is not the main draw, and calls Brink’s multiplayer “exquisite” and it deserves to be ranked amongst the finest co-op experiences available!
