First-ever Dirty Bomb Gameplay Video Released!

How can you tell it’s an engie? Just asking.
BTW i liked bomb planting being a soldier task in ETQW. It added to the teamplay experience.

In the gameplay vid, they literally say: “Engineers get C4 on it and destroy it.” (Around 1:40 minutes in the video)

Take a look at the planting ones hands, and at her neighbor, planting as well.

Well, we will have different opinion on the Engie with HE enhancing the teamplay experience. I agree with all those ppl who say it’s cool we again have soldier busy killing, as his team-role, specialization, and engineer busy… engineering ;-). Both cases has pros and cons off course, yet I prefer the old ET way over ETQW’s.

Have a good day!

Indeed in ET:QW all the classes was balanced and if u want to win the attack side u almost always needed all 4 classes

All in all I’m pretty satisfied and thrilled after this video. The only thing that kinda put me off was how fast people seemed to die. It’s pre-alpha footage so I’m not worried. [/QUOTE]

thought the same.

no recoil is awesome, but i will miss strafejumping too :frowning:

and well written blog. hopefully it it is sincerly! good luck!

(BomBaKlaK) #48

We dont see any jump or tricks in this video, wait and see.

What dedication are they talking about? SD abandoned Brink just after some % of people decided to stop playing the game. If they were that dedicated they wouldn’t abandon their game so fast. Just look at some other devs. Lets say Tripwire Interactive for instance. Do they abandoned Red Orchestra 2 after its VERY bad launch with tons of bugs, bad optimization, crashes etc. - no, they continued to support it with frequent patches even now when the game have 1000 players at best and ofc they support modding completely. That’s dedication - to support your product and the creations of your fans no matter how bad the situation is.

My point is that I can’t trust SD anymore. What if I give 'em 120$ to support the project and 2-3 months later they drop the support?

From what I saw from the trailer the gunplay feels the same as in BRINK and most of the animations are the same or slightly changed but you still can see the BRINK animations in them. If the game turns out as reskin of BRINK it will die even faster, no matter if its F2P or not.

I don’t know guys… I really want this game to succeed but I am very sceptical about it. Mostly because of what happened with BRINK, as I already said. If there was some official confirmation from SD that they will not abandon the game after the first drop of the player count I will feel better but still…

I don’t know what you think guys about the first gameplay trailer, but what I have saw is that the game is just like Counter-Strike. There’s no potential in similiar games, because there’s no sense in what you are doing (only doing run-n-gun and that’s all, you don’t need to think what you must do).

I miss the days back when Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was released.

I’m still playing the game, but I would be so happy if SD have announced ETQW2 or W:ET2, than this…

I’ve said this and I’ll say it again. I’m pretty sure that the reason for the lack of community support almost completely came from Bethesda, their producer at the time which is known to hold down PC developers. I would need a word from the developers to know for sure, but since this is a free to play title with a constant flow of income for SD they are almost surely going to make this their flagship “ET” title as they would only suffer from releasing another shooter that is not free to play with the same basics. The only choice they would have for a long time would be to support Dirty Bomb, and I’m sure they will do it.

…We believe competitive multiplayer team-play is more thrilling than single-player. We believe in fulfilling players by advancing their actual skill. We believe in long-term player engagement, developing games that are played for months and years. We believe in competitive games as a service, and we’re dedicated to the perfection of team-play…

I can’t stop crying…
this is one of the happiest days of my life

(WinterActual) #53

If it was Bethesda’s fault, why other games led by their hand such as F3/NV and Skyrim are open for the community then?

(NeoRussia) #54

F3/NV and Skyrim were both really terrible ports with money-grubbing typical Bethesda DLC, and games that were unplayable on more than half of PCs and it was only fixed by unofficial patches or GPU driver support. New Vegas actually took several months before it was playable by the majority of people that already owned it since release, and even then a mod patch to fix the game came out before the official one. The only PC-related support is done from nvidia and amd for drivers, and Bethesda’s mod-loading system which is just an interface to copy files over. It just so happens that’s possible because there is no protection on their files, same with other PC ports like Dark Souls where files are easily accessible and modable. The only protection on their games is a CD check because they don’t give a crap about how pirateable their games are on the PC, as they do not ever make specific changes for it even though something as big as their inventory system which is so bad it’s near-unusable on the PC never gets changed even though it’s been the same since Oblivion. They just leave it up to the community to fix their own sloppy job. And that doesn’t end there, we already knew how Bethesda basically destroyed some of the best developers such as id software for us PC gamers. Every single id software game released under Bethesda has been a complete mess because of marketing and support from the developer because suddenly as soon as Bethesda took over the connection between id and the community has been lost completely and now we have games like RAGE which are a complete joke and come with pre-planned DLC. RAGE ending was originally not going to be the official one, you would have to buy the DLC for the game in order to get the full ending, but as soon as Bethesda realized they weren’t getting sales they had id cut all plans of support for the game.

did we see the same video? wtf are you talking about.

(sexykate) #57

im a little excited

(Bittermetal) #58

Did you all really get rid of SMART? That doesn’t seem all that SMART. That was hardly what was wrong with BRINK. That movement system was one of the most innovative inclusions to gaming to hit the scene in a very long time.

Please bring SMART back and expand the range of movements and travel options. Maybe not limit it so much on heavier classes.

(knippon) #59

looks slow. we want to strafe jump or at least move fast.

spreads look a little wide.

I also saw “T” to raise. Drop that. We want weapon banks for everything. You admitted you were wrong about the grenade weapon bank in Brink. Don’t make the same mistake again.

(nonoMapper) #60

I’m probably boring you saying that q3,rtcw and et ist the only movement i like in multiplayer games. It’s frustrating to see that SD and also ID are making games which feels so heavy in their movement and terribly slow.
It’s probably because the developers want to make their games more realistic and that, i think, is a basic thinking error. There is more fun in a unrealistic movement than a realistic one.

Anyway, i liked the barriers and the tank, reminds me of ET ;)…in a new jacket
…and the medic too

Oh and i agree with Mao
