Fire Support Merc of Imprisoning

(I-Fell-Tower) #1

Name: Baron

Role: Fire Support

Primary Ability; Heli Control: Baron takes out a touchpad-like device and if the Heli isn’t on the field yet the Baron can drop it to a spot near him that has a direct line of sight to the sky. While the Heli is on-field Baron can remote-control it. With ASDW keys you control it horizontally and with the crouch and the jump button vertically. You can look around by simply moving your mouse. The Heli can do quite a lot. It’s primary fire either drains ammo from an enemy or refills a far-away teammate’s ammo reserves to a full. The fill-up function has a 17-second cooldown but the drain can be used always. It locks onto an enemy and starts to drain his / her ammo reserves. It’s first slow but if a direct line of sight is not broken with the enemy the drain rate can become quite large.
The Heli’s secondary fire ability is a little bit different. You see, when Baron spawns for the first time during a match he spawns with a giant container under him having pretty much a size of 75% of the EV’s volume. The Heli can carry this container under it and drop it on enemies imprisoning them because of the container having no bottom. The container also has a down-facing camera to help a precise drop-off. While the enemies are inside they have to break out. The container’s own weight-produce system will overheat the container in 30 seconds after the drop-off disabling it. Of course waiting like that would be boring so the trapped mercs can fast out the progress with some kind of minigame possible to play inside the container. Being good at the game would make the progress 100% faster at it’s maximum. Once the container overheats the horizontally-facing walls of it will allow the enemies to go out. If the enemies try to escape from the container by committing a suicide the remaining time until the overheat disables the container will be added to their respawn timer.
When the container becomes disabled it has to be repaired. Non-engineers can repair it in 8 seconds and engineers in 5. This repairing also has to be done for the Heli if it goes down. It has 500 health at it’s maximum and it regens one a second.
The Heli can fly upwards as long as it’s next to a wall that leads to some possible-to-be-walked-on surface. One possibility is also that it has distance to the surface beneath it to be less than it’s own height and possibly the container’s height combined.

Secondary ability; Tech Telescope: Baron can take out a telescope. With his primary fire he can swing it like a melee weapon and with it’s secondary fire Baron can look through it at far-away places.
If an enemy gets hit by the telescope the enemy player’s mouse sensitivity will be doubled for three seconds. In the other hand the enemy will have his / her mouse sensitivity reduced to 25% of it’s normal value if Baron has the enemy in his line of sight through the telescope for a span of time of 3 seconds. Then as long as Baron keeps looking at the enemy through the telescope the sensitivity will remain reduced.

HP: 120

Speed: 400

Arsenal: Baron’s default primary weapon is the Dreiss AR. He can also carry the Stark and the M4A4.
Secondaries, he has the .40 as his default and he can also have the Deagle and the Gaulden.
Melee-weapon-wise he has the Bat as his default and he can carry the Combat Knife and the Kukri also.

About Baron: Baron tried to solve problems peacefully. World, being the mean place it is, didn’t listen. Baron was an idealist of an aggressive kind but in the end he realized something (said “Screw it”). What happened resulted in him using guns and military tech to solve problems and finally getting his beloved place among the world’s most popular mercs. He cannot accept it when the world doesn’t function like he would like it to so don’t try to make you and him friends. He is kinda fat and uses robes and hoodies as his clothes.

Uses: Baron can take out important mercs and especially slow ones. He can also screw up snipers’ aim and have an upper hand in melee fights. Good against slow Assault, snipers and ammo-needing mercs.

Weaknesses and countering: Strike Baron when he’s controlling his Heli. He’s immobile and easy prey. If he tries to melee you dodge and in the case of the looking-through-telescope move so that he cannot reduce you sensitivity. If you see his Heli move out. The Heli is dangerous but slow. If you have time to destroy it do it. You’ll do nice service to your team.

Broken af

For the primary ability, you want a helicopter that can take away an enemy’s ammo/give a friendly ammo by looking at them, and can drop a box over enemies? Sounds like a troll’s dream more than anything.

For the secondary ability, you can’t a telescope that somehow makes people look around faster if hit by it…and look around slower if looked at through it…

Yeah nah. Don’t bother updating this, I don’t see how this could be good in any way.

@TheRyderShotgun Savage af XD

Only appropriately so, didn’t spend any extra time throwing unnecessary profanities around, as others might have.

pretty sure I covered why drones are bad in older posts… ‘-’ … i dunno.
(And those were only drones which did ONE thing at a time.)

Heli seems sucky

@TheRyderShotgun I’m sorry if I made an impression that this merc was supposed to be god-tier. I’ll tune his idea down a little bit and explain it a little bit further.

  • I think I mentioned that giving ammo to your allies via the fill-up Heli ability had a quite long cool-down AND it didn’t activate just by you looking at your allies with the Heli. You had to PRESS. BUTTONS. I know. Scary. Anyway, if that already scared you I think the cool-down could be brought up to 25 seconds.
  • Then about the ability to take away enemy ammo. I bet that balancing out the drain-increase-over-time would be kind of a pain so I thought that it could be simplified a little bit. You could lock into enemies via the Heli’s ability and this would cause the enemy to lose 0.2 magazines per second from his / her ammo reserves. Of course multiple Helis couldn’t stack this drainage so that 5 Helis could take out one magazine per second from the drain target. This would kinda upset MG Thunders…
  • Maybe 30 seconds is too long of a duration for the box to imprison the enemies. I thought that reducing that time to 20 seconds seemed like a reasonable change to the idea.
  • I want to also put an emphasis on the fact that Heli’s horizontal movement speed’s very small (300). It’s there to push enemies away and distracting them as in also doing the things I mentioned while presenting the idea.
  • I thought that the logic (don’t really know why do you need logic in a game where there’s a merc who doesn’t use shotguns but still has shotgun rounds strapped on him) for the Telescope is that upon hitting enemies they “would get confused” and start going around the place like people with serious headaches. If you would look through the Telescope it would transmit a pulse lowering the awareness of the in-sight enemy.
  • And sorry, had to update.

@Naonna If you have covered your view point on droids could you post some links for me that lead to those view points being presented?

@paramountGasoline Is it possible you could tell me why you think Heli’s bad? Would help in improving the idea.

(Your worst knifemare.) #8

First, you would pretty much be vulnerable while controling it, and while giving ammo wouldnt be that bad taking it can cause problems, also why trap some enemys when a kira or skyhammer can kill them quicker,

Telescopes ok though

(HunterAssassin5) #9

OH MY GOD, YOU HAVE TO PRESS BUTTONS. OH MY FCKING GOD. MOM, GET THE CAMERA, THIS GUY SAYS YOU HAVE TO PRESS BUTTONS. BIG FCKING DIFFERENCE.

(I-Fell-Tower) #10

@paramountGasoline Yeah, you would be vulnerable while controlling it. That’s the reason you SHOULDN’T stay in one place all the time. You would have to find a hiding place to be safe IF you wanted to control Heli for a long time.

I thought that the amount of ammo that could be taken away by the Heli per second was kinda fair. If it would make you happy it could be just 10% magazine?

Why to trap them and not kill them? You can make them useless for a longer time than just the time they’re respawning. As I stated, committing a suicide inside the container wouldn’t also be an option because it would add the remaining imprison time to your respawn timer. Yeah, they could be killed faster with someone like Kira but for getting rid of them Baron could proof to be a good shot.

@TheRyderShotgun I’ll go to the 1st argument you made about the ammo drain ability because the latest one was kinda on the point and it just stated something that wasn’t that game changing for any of us. So, do you think it’s still a troll’s dream if it had an ammo drain rate of literally 0.1 magazines a second? This wouldn’t stack and you could again run away if you’re too scared of the Heli…
