-filter switch @ light phase like q3map_LightmapFilterRadius

(Q.) #1

You know -filter works levelwidely while q3map_FilterRadius N per shader basis.
Here is a question.
Can -filter specify its radius N?
Or it is static?
If so, why and what the value of N?
Thank you.

(EB) #2

q3map_FilterRadius ?
do you mean > q3map_lightmapFilterRadius (self other) ?

(Q.) #3

Oh, you’re right. :blah:
Again my question is

Why

-filter N(all)

is impossible at command line?

(obsidian) #4

“N” = filter radius

If you have specific surfaces that require a different value, you can set q3map_lightmapFilterRadius separately since the shader version takes precidence over the command switch.

(Q.) #5

@ob
lol, you never ever answer my real question. :bump:

(Shallow) #6

Your question is a bit like asking, “Why can’t I draw a blue line with this red pen?” It won’t do it because it’s not made that way.

(obsidian) #7

But that would be too easy.

(Q.) #8

To tell the truth, ideally, I’ve been waiting for q3map2 author saying “Because it is bleh, I omitted that feature.” or something like that.
Maybe my explanation was improper.
