Filling open spaces ?

(dwe_flame) #1

well, i was wonderign about this already a few times
so i attached this image below, and wonder
does it have a positive effect in any way, to make such area’s filled ? maybe with caulk brush ore something ? so have positive effect on memory or compiling ?

or does it only look at the faces of the brushes ?

Yes, fill them in to make the whole shape there one square, when comes to vis compile will split up the map less (I forgot all the terminology on this subject)

Yea, that’ll make a mess of your leaves(bsp splits), make it solid, unless you want ppl to get in there :o

after you bsp compile, use the .prt viewer to see how many portal(leaves) you’ve created for nothing

Fill it so it is all solid to create less breaks in your bsp leaves, I’ve been away for awhile, but I think that’s what you mean, eh?

yea, exactly what i was thinking

and does it matter if i fill it with multiple brushes, or should it be better to make it filled with as less brushes as possible ?

Doesn’t matter how many brushes you use, as long as it is caulk.
