im somewhat sleepy now but decided to join help instead of continuing maptesting as was planned for tonight, and rather than just talking here.

starting to dl scriptsbindings&confs, utils, and media(w.o. videos) in this order, complete with folder structure and folder names, upload dates, long file names, number of downloads, etc

will edit this post about where did i stop.

[EDIT2]: us directory done. would been going on to media but rather went to sleep ^^. notes: this is the directory which contains both the German 88mmFlak-Prefab - 88flak.zip by zefan, the most beautiful flak after the one on secret sub pen (omaha.pk3) (an otherwise ugly map) - and i have seen many uglier, to be more precise, all others were very ugly -, and the necromancer skybox pack, which is a huge and pretty much useless pack. [/] last stage of old edits of edit2 crossed out: -u\svts, ts, mits and mats are done, going to .\mps - wip atm… [placeholder text here…]- [/]

[EDIT3]: have not started the media-without-videos !!!. i think if everything goes right tomorrow i will do this (definitely not the video part, someone do this pls, in my belief it cannot be anything else than a fvcking huge useless crap-pile, amybe with some hidden trasures amongst the usual clancrap…), and now as i see how few it is, hm, lets see…, yes, lets include models also into my tomorrow plan. this way, it seems that everythnig is covered in the et section. and if mysteriously something would happen to me(*) then still there is the sunday for you.
*: eg a comet would strike into my reight neighbour’s left neighbour’s house.P, thanks to bow for this golden one (original was much better, „you (ie me) should stand up from before your pc and check if a comet didnt hit ur neighbour’s house”) .[/]

dont have normal webpage myself so will upload the whole thing 7zipped into a mega pack to some file hoster from where any1 who wanna sort it out/just grab it, can get it

As i have most of the ET maps (888 mapfiles) - i have been concentrated about the the RTCW files.
I have downloaded all the files of the map folder - foldernames ( RTCW/Maps/ Map Packs + Multiplayer + Others + prefabs + Single player + Textures + Tutorials)
Will look at other folders this weekend.
@ Nail - im intrested in saving all the work the community has done - will send you a pm

Great to see this starting. You may wish to contact a person named n0e on Strategy Informer he may be interested in hosting a ET files replacement. (thats what is happening with JK series)

I’m done with the modifications directory. And I’m Going to download the models directory.

PS: I preserve the structure of the directory names. :slight_smile: But I don’t copy the file descriptions.

EDIT: Models directory downloaded. Continue with the media directory.

EDIT(2): Media directory downloaded. The last and biggest directory Maps Levels Missions left.

Did somebody download the whole Levels Directory already?

one should extract all the 6 packs into 1 directory, then he is getting back the original structure as it was when it was 1 pack. (had to change it coz at every failed ul attempt should ve started from beginning the 7 hour process, once it was enough…)

the packs are not a multivolume archive but separate standalone ones valid on their own.

Since I don’t have your bandwidth or spare time, I’ve concentrated what time I can spare on finding some of the relevant ET files in filefront that were not submited to the RTCWfiles site (namely those openly available in personal hosting directories). Took a few tries at google filtering and its not perfect since I am assuming “enemy territory” occurs on the page (which did not on most of my own filefront files :o). Finally got it down to < 1000 and am half way through checking. Along the way I noticed a few files that are in the common filefront directories;
Home > Wolfenstein Enemy Territory > …
Home > Return to Castle Wolfenstein Enemy Territory > …
Home > Return To Castle Wolfenstein > …
but not in RTCWfiles file browsing or search (example Seafire model). So It would help to know which file browser you are using to garner the file structure and lists.

I think the biggest find so far are the people storing cheats:eek: LOL, but then too there is the linux versions of tce…

BTW My all my (already backedup) FritzBot waypoint paks are on offer to any site so long as I get version control (i.e can delete older or buggy ones). And I suppose my posters I’ll pack up too (those that I don’t put in my albums here).

THAT WAS A VERY BAD AND UNTASTEFUL JOKE, i have to tell that. and in ing capitals which is really not my style. and it may be seen as creative or particularly effective because of pulling the trigger earlier, but i just… . i realy want to say " you" who invented this bcoz its not a good one. extremely not. damn.
nvm, it has good sides, a very good one

yeah and imagine the poor jedi knight and whatever fellows some1 mentioned in an early post, who had only this site. i dont think they had particularly good feelings in them during this, or made really happy by this ng joke

yeah, first reactions :slight_smile: now 2 mins later feeling more relaxed…

waiting to see what wezel will say when first see this, i bet he and magic did over 98% of the useful work here and saved pretty much all the et stuff (+magic rtcw)

yeah; didnt check it after reading the news thery again on(nor now, not rly interested anymoar, its been saved so), it was shocking enough, and what would be the purpose to visit em anyway. but now what to think, hm… well i remember i think it was on 31st when i visited,m first though all ok (coz my bookmark was on the 2 topmost dirs, wet and rtcw) and enterec category and saw theyre empty. another thing, it wasnt of importance until these stuff emerging, i a few days ago posted the info on a ko forum as well, and a guy said in a reply that an clever guy said to him the same abt closing and that the company who runned ff already have closen many of its other media somewhat earlier so he also dont thinks thatz its fake

Some folders are still available and some dont.
Earlier today was the RTCW map folder intact - now its gone.

I think i have covered almost everything in the RTCW folders - (only some clan videos are missing).
In ET folders i have done all except map folder.

1450 files and 14,5 gig

I don’t think it’s an april fool’s joke: The forums at filefront also got restored and it seems that the moderators themselves are surprised by this - the forum admin posted this half an hour ago:

Good news, the original can be found here.

FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool’s Joke.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media’s plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

We’re happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.

Due to the very unfortunate timing of this event and related announcements on March 24th and April 1st (April Fool’s Day), we’d like to make it perfectly clear that:

Bad joke, bad timing or whatever went on, it’s good that it’s back up.

We should make one post with all of the download links so people can grab everything for their own peace of mind.
