Field HQ Beta 4

(d3coy) #1

Found out there was a bug allowing documents to be capped at keycard capture point.

Ive dealt with this issue and made it so documents cannot be retrieved until keycard is captured. Also some minor texture bugs layout fixes.

Axis spawn time increased to 20 seconds.

This version will stand as last version before a final. Map will be tested for several weeks to determine final changes. Hopefully we can get some great games played on it.

Will also tell you that another map is in the works that uses part of this map as well. Just some new areas being added into the map and others being blocked to redirect the flow of the map. I have yet to see 3 good maps that use the same areas put together as a campaign. Something i might try!!!

Good to see some much improved / existant vis portals :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice work, although I still think your sub_base is better :stuck_out_tongue:

 Seems lots of people like it for pub play… but to much for comp… oh well… it was meant for pubs anyhow.

Although I’m doubting this is possible, I would love to see, as a player, a “smart” campaign. 3 maps, one axis attack, one allied attack, and one dual objective. You start with the dual objective map, play till one teams wins, and then advance to the winners attack map. If they win again, they win the campaign. If they lose, you go back to the dual objective map and start over.

All three maps share parts of each other, so its like one, large battle.

Exmple:

Side A wins Dual OBjective, and attack next.
Side B wins holds, and it goes back to dual map.
Side B wins, and now they attack.
Side B is successful on teh attack, and win the campaign.

not sure you could designate which version of the map or which map specifically for the game to load based on which team won.

Now you could just have 3 maps in succession that use the same areas… have counter attacks and such.

Yeah.

I was just wondering if you could, based upon a custom script in the campaign file. It would definitly be fun to play. You could have entire campaigns based off of 3 or 5 maps, until one team can win that last one.

Thinking of it, it might be a fun competitive style of play, if possible. Just play one of those until one team wins.

Erls: no, you can’t modify campaign orders from a map script without using a custom mod. However, I once wrote a fix to allow mappers to write stuff into CVars. ETPro, ETPub, FalckonET and possibly No Quarter should support it by now.

Now, you could make that dual objective map, let it write some value to a CVar and let the next map decide what to do with it. (Eg. change the initial spawn positions so the winners of last map should run slightly further to reach the objectives.)
