- Vote kick system in Ranked
Yesterday, I got on to play a ranked game with my friend. I was 6-2 and was soon to be ranked. I get into a lobby on Trainyard and guess what? A Vasilli is using aimbot to noscope people in the head. I’m sure it can be argued that he was just “good” but his team was even observing him zoom to people’s heads in inhumanly time. This could’ve been solved right away if the game had a vote kick system in Ranked. I don’t actually understand how the vote kick system works (5 votes to none fails?), but even having a chance of kicking someone that’s hacking is good enough for me and for everyone else. I can see the vote kick system being used to kick players that are destroying enemy teams, but the enemy team can also vote on the kicking and 99% of the time, the enemy team votes to kick a hacker, no matter what team. I can also see how losing someone that is killing everyone for you is a huge lose, but that’s a lot better than having a game be forfeit because a team can’t get out of their spawn without dying.
OR
A report system in ranked. I believe the devs are working on this, but just in case they aren’t, it’s a very good idea.
- Skins
This is a concept that games like League of Legends do very well at marketing, and I believe Dirty Bomb has the exact same potential, minus the millions of players. In League, you buy a champion and then eventually that champion goes free. You don’t want to look like a “free week noob”, so you buy a skin, as in to say: “I played this champion before, and I know how to use him.” Alternatively, League also creates “unappealing” looks to most of the default skins to urge you into buying a different skin. This could be done in Dirty Bomb. It makes you look more prestigious compared to those other free week players. I’m positive that lots of people would buy skins for their favorite mercs.
*I know that you would need to hire some more people, but you could also utilize the Steam Workshop to help. The profit is rather sizable too, based on how much mercs cost.
- Custom created maps
For this to work, a development sandbox would have to be created as well, with tools to help people create maps. The biggest weakness of this game is the limitation of maps (only 5!), and that seems to turn off a lot of people. Having others create maps would spark interest in the game from people that didn’t like the maps, and would attract more new players.
*Again, steam workshop could be utilized for this.
- (Bonus) Steam Achievements
Barely important, but would be nice to have achievements (if CS:GO and TF2 have them, why not DB).
