Few problems

  1. I have made 2 commandmap layers - they seem to work correct. However, when I tested my map on Jaymod server, a weird error (no valid layer or something like that) was spamming console. I don’t even know when it started, I think when 2 players entered lower layer at the same time. Also another problem - sometimes players aren’t shown on the lower layer. Are these Jaymod bugs or did I do something wrong?

  2. What are the ways to optimise .bsp size?

Also if someone has good mapping knowledge and can help me with few other minor issues, please PM me. Thanks in advance.

I believe command maps need to be powered of two… Like, your command map can’t be 512256 resoloution. Only 256256, 512512, 10241024 etc… Which format is it? I think TGA is standard format for the purpose.

Commandmap works good and is in good resolution/format/etc.

  1. All I know about multiple layer command maps is that they take a while to get right, some fiddling. There use to be some information on these forums about them and RayBan used it in castle ctf, so maybe if you look around you can find something.

Sometimes the most logical place is the last place you look

Anyway as I said all I know is that they are a bit buggy / annoying so not much help for your problem.

  1. Use less brushes :stuck_out_tongue:

for the minor issues post them here and we can figure them out?

Unless there is a fix in Jaymod for this, I don’t think it work in stock ET - it has been partially broken since day 1.

The Z-Axis is not being processed for objectives, so while the command maps will display correctly, the objectives all show on one layer.

There are a few maps that used it, but players were always hunting for objectives that were showing on the command map but were really at a different level.
