Female merc body types could use more variation

Well sure. Like Hawken every ‘character’ is a genderless robot and everything works fine. Though if you’re using human characters then gender still matters. In regards to personal narrative. Then again, there’s a huge and very vocal Tumblr community that would vehemently disagree with that notion but let’s not open that can of worms here.

For me it’s less about; “we also need “fat” females”, than it is about diversity and variety in general. And since the variety among the guys is already much greater than among our lovely cuties I think SD should aim for more balance characterwise. As I’ve said already, their design of every single character is effing great, but now it’s about time to show us how they’d imagine a lady merc with a little more meat on her hips and inside her bra. Take this as a personal challenge SD and show us your skill in making a slightly overweight girl look just as adorable and intersting as the rest of the female cast.

most importantly a mercs needs a character
it needs to be like a real person.

perfect example - Brienne of Tarth. from Game of thrones.
Not a super model? who cares! she is cool, strong, she knows the score, and she kills the bad guys.

My favourite UT2k4 character was Rhylisa.

And I found Rosie O’Donell actually attractive. She has beautiful hair and a nice face; at least when she was a couple years younger. A bigger female merc with her younger face, why not? So who’s next in line to confess? Man this is like truth or dare, lol

Nothing attractive about her really, these type of characters are just unique and recognisable among the thirteen in a dozen super fit characters or robots in Unreal. And being instantly recognisable is so much more fun if you’re playing arenas, especially with friends.

I don’t know the visual core concept of DB, but for now I’d say that guys in this game are all supposed to look kinda ugly, whereas the girls are intentionally meant to be more on the attractive side; yeah I know, surprise, surprise… But instead of making the females super sexy in a cheap way SD stuck with a more natural “girl next door” look for them. What I want to say; no matter how big a female merc is, or if she’s missing a limb, or has a scar across her face, or whatnot, she should at least to some degree be still seen as attractive, just like the girls in the upcoming Mad Max movie. Just look at Therone there; still kinda beautiful, even though she’s missing an arm and almost all her hair.

PS: I’d say you can change a lot on a girl and her body, as long as she has bright eys and nicely shaped lips she’ll always be attractive to a certain degree.
