Feeling like I should give a last feedback before asking for a refund

I feel a bit guilty because I am really considering giving away my alpha acc.

Overall, I think giving away alpha/beta acc’s for money isnt the right way. Why?

Only a few of the community members around here show some real interest in the game and try to make the best of the game. Most of the ppl.
( including me) are somehow expecting a super-fluid gameplay and fun fun fun, even if we know that this is ALPHA.

Somehow, every time I login to this game I ask myself if it was economic to spend money on this. And the big problem about the activity of this alpha-community, made this thought even more annoying.

Yes I had fun with this game, but the current negativity of the community is just insane. Sometimes I felt frustrated just when I joined the server and saw the typical " this is never gonne work out / this map is bull****"-chat.

I am not a psychologist, neither do I have experience in managing such projects as DB, but the factor of spending a lot of money for the play-test totally kills alot of positivity in this community. When people only can enjoy 15mins of DB, because the half of the server is leaving after the first round, the economic-thoughts do their best to get ppl. frustrated about this situation.

If the current attitude about DB continues, the alpha/beta will go on with just a few active members when BF4 and other games are released. Instead of giving away keys for money, the most active ppl. here should be rewarded with keys to give away.

People like inferno, pulley,potty, samurai, .FROST, Mustang and a lot of other names ( which i forgot :stuck_out_tongue: ) who really helpful in this alpha, are the ones who actually deserve to be here. And not the "I paid 120$ and what is this bull****? - negative asshole guy. ( Which I have to honestly count myself in.)

At this point !some! other players, especially !some! “competitive players” ( which only want the advantage before the game is released.) should really ask themselfes what they are doing here.

Thank your for SD for letting me in into this game and participating the alpha test. And thank you for offering a refund, which is very honoreable.
And thanks to all of the players who are helping the community with their feedback/thoughts/Match-Inivites and whatever can be done.

So your reason to ask for a refund is rather due to the community than to the game itself?

Its more the feeling that I cant enjoy the game at the moment, because I dont feel like the game and community around it is worth 120$.

Like I said, I often asked myself is “this” is worth 120$, especially when starring at empty servers.

At the moment I also totally disagree with the map design, like a lot of other players. My point is/was that its not only the communities fault why im leaving, its more like the bad feeling when spending 120$ on a game which currently does not meet my expectations in much points.

And I share this feeling with a lot of people here --> Which brings too much negatitvity in this alpha test instead of giving proper feedback/fun/community feeling. Instead of destroying/harming the community or talking rubbish about an alpha-version of a game, asking for a refund is the best solution.

DB/Extraction can still become a good game, but currently it is just the bad feeling that wont go away.

Offering a refund for unhappy guys who are just toxic to the community or just have a bad feeling about the game is a good solution.

My decision is not heroic and its not because I care so much about the community, but its O.K. for both sides.

The current lack of activity will only go away, if people are happy on playing DB. For me thats not possible when asking myself “120$ ?!” every time I have problems with this game. Due too high expecations and people that wont even play the game for more than 2 rounds.

Game forums are always populated by parasites, including alphas and betas. It is, sadly, a major part of game culture.

Critics are necessary to have a good game, it’s how we can “make it happen” (I don’t really know if this term is correct), and not by saying “oooohhh your are so great !” at each announcement.

I prefer to try rather than abandon and ask a refund, even if I know that I have already lost…

  • I have only paid a veteran pack. I imagine that if I had paid 120 dollars, I would request a refund.

If you knew this was an alpha, why would you set up such high expectations?

Now I read the whole post and you have some legitimate concerns. It is a good thing they are offering refunds for people who got into this with the wrong idea. It is weird to offer testing at such a high price point, but at the same time it should weed out a lot of people who aren’t determined to really help the game’s testing process. If it were free it would be probably 1000 times worse for sure.

well i would have payed 120 euro if i had the money(someone gave me key :slight_smile: ),
i see it this way with buying it i support the company which gave me the most fun i ever had with a game (thousands of hours et)
and i can be part of create smth new :slight_smile:
we never paid for et (ok i bought brink) if extraction give me only 50% of the fun et gave me im happy
