Favorite Non-FPS Game?

^ That. Just that. I’ve played through Enslaved probably 8 times and it never gets old. I love story based games (Enslaved, The Wolf Among Us, Firewatch) but I always have a hard time finding the good ones to keep me busy. Suggestions for the next one to get lost in?

I prefer indie games, sometimes they’re awesome, sometimes they’re lame.

One of my favorite is Hotline Miami, and RONIN. Came from the same publisher, those are pretty awesome yet simplistic game

Indie games and middle budget games are all I’ve been purchasing for the last 2 years. Seriously WTF is wrong with AAA games these days? Pretty much none of them interest me, and the only one I wanted so badly, turned out to be console exclusive… sigh really Rockstar? sigh

Anyway, back to the topic.

I love pure stealth action games, where you get punished for being caught. Aragami and Mark of The Ninja was a great comeback of pure stealth satisfaction.

3D platformers are sadly dead, hope for Yoooka Laylee to bring back the magic of 3D platformers. There were so many titles to choose from, back in the PS2 days (had one me-self before giving it away).

Hack and Slash/Beat’em ups. Again the PS2 days, it had God Of War, Devil May Cry, etc. Don’t see any future games coming to that genre on PC at the moment.

Overall I love 3rd person action games. I get this feeling of immersion with the character, something I couln’t get in most of FPS games (with some exceptions).

@TheStrangerous Mark of the Ninja was fantastic. For some reason, Alien: Isolation is some of my favorite stealth game play ever simply for it’s punishingly difficult AI and dire consequences if you get caught.

Total War Series up to Shogun 2 (since my PC cant keep up to Rome 2 and attilla)

I like the thief franchise. I know this isn’t exactly a non-FPS, but it is different in the way that it’s focus is more on stealth than killing anything in sight. I would love to see more first person stealth games, especially ones that give you the chance to clean a whole house of their valuables, while the 51 guards don’t even notice anything out of the ordinary.

I play Terraria. I actually have more hours in Terraria than in Dirty Bomb.

Battlefield heroes. a 3rd person shooter that stopped in 2015. it was epic.

There’s this really indie game on Steam called Lemma. It’s like a hyper-awesome-expanded version of Mirror’s Edge.

Gunpoint and Risk of Rain are two pretty amazing games. The first is a stealth puzzler in which you rewire buildings and stuff to extract corporate information from heavily protected servers, and the second is a rougelike where you play as a survivor of a shipwreck on a mysterious planet and must use the ship’s cargo to survive.

Would highly recommend both games.

I actually do. Was an impulse buy a few months ago, great for just relaxing for a few minutes before bed or something. Wish they would add more levels or custom levels though, it doesn’t have much replay value.
