Well done leif
Now u’ll have to get started on a new map to win the 2006 best map competition!!!
Favorite map of 2005' is Decoder!!!
I think it’s a bit disappointing that so few people voted, but congrats to Leif/Life never the less!
Thanks for the ‘Decoder’ nominations and votes!
Looking at the other entries I must say I’m bit suprised…there are clearly at lot of maps that are much better looking than Decoder…and when looking at gameplay and ‘fun-factor’ the competition is also very stiff. Still, no reason to complain I guess so:
Yes, the number of votes was disapointing…maybe next time we should use the ‘poll’ option for the actual voting and possibly limit the number of nominees if we end up with too many.
Anyway, kudos to EB for taking the initiative…it encouraged me to take a look at a few maps I had yet to try.
Maybe do another one soonish: ‘Best ET custom maps ever!’
Now we’ll just have to pack up the nominated maps and release the 'SD Forum - Best of ‘05 map pack’!
Same here but I would have voted Decoder anyway.
Raw Castle has the gameplay but it has a few framerate issues. Decoder has the originality (gameplay is not bad either).
Ur right, raw castle does have serious frame rate issues for me and a few others i know
No thats just errol :bump: . My new PC is 1337. Just waitin on the damn graphics card for over 3 weeks now. :banghead: ![]()
What about no stockmap modifications either in next years vote?
And, yea, categories would be nice. But after all, its a “which map is most popular” vote, so u don’t really need categories.
About map evaluations, I still think that Nalicity which runs reviews of UT map has the best system for a map evaluation:

For example this review:

I always wondered why even well done UT2003 maps look so much more atmospheric than ET maps though.
