Favorite Engineer to Play?

Well the last one got some nice feedback, so I figured I’d continue on with all the classes.
Again this isn’t about which is the best Engineer, but about which is your personal favorite to play? This is probably gonna be pretty hard, since I love all the Engineers.
4. Turtle- The Turkish Tortuga himself, I gotta put him on the bottom of the list just because he’s just too… situational. I’ve tried to tell myself that he’s viable on attack, but I can’t justify using him over any of the other engies. Still fun as heck on defense, and the challenge of using him on attack is always… challenging, I guess.
3. Proxy- The British Bomber herself, she gets put on 3rd for the simple fact that I feel bad playing her. She’s fun as hell, but god dangit the mere thought of giving an explosive pancake delivery makes me reach for my Bible.
2. Bushwhacker- The Texan Technician himself, he gets the second place spot because the KEK-10 IS F*CKING AWESOME. But sersiously, the Turret is incredibly versatile, he’s good in just about every situation, and you can never go wrong with a good ol’ Texas accent.

  1. Fletcher- The Nigerian Nukedropper himself, Fletcher gets the number one because… well he’s my main. Ever since I saw Howto Sniff throwing stickies around like Mariano Rivera, I couldn’t wait to unlock him. Since then, he’s stuck by my side throughout my Dirty Bomb career, 'sploding everyone from Auras to Rhinos. My hand pretty much autolocks “sticky bomb throwing” formation on my mouse everytime I grip it. I love this indoor-stunner-wearing objective specialist!

  1. Proxy-Proximity mines in Goldeneye was my favorite mode so I use her a lot. She’s almost always on my three merc group.

  2. Bushwhacker-There’s some great spots for his turret where it shoots the enemy in the back and then I finish them off when they turn to destroy it or vice versa where I lead the enemy around the corner to it.

  3. Turtle-Shield is cool, would be even cooler if it changed color to match the current loadout card equipped. Mines and turrets are just more fun to me.

  4. Fletcher-Not good with him, only play him to derp around or practice getting better.

  1. Bushwanker: He’s an overall useful merc while also being fun to mess around with.
  2. Turtle: Same weapons as Bushy, different ability
  3. Proxy: I hate her guts
  4. Fletcher: He hates my guts.

  1. Fletcher | Bushwhacker: Currently can’t use Fletcher due to slight internet service issues in my current apartment, but he and Bushwhacker are my go-to picks for engineers on any map.

  2. Turtle: My second go-to pick; and another tie for first pick along with Fletcher and Bushwhacker. Only thing that places him lower, for me, is that to use him on attack and defense requires a competent team; and he also is most effective when specific Mercs, whom he has strong synergy with, are present and handled by competent players (e.g. Aura, Guardian, Rhino, etc.).

  3. Proxy: I wouldn’t consider playing her, unless I wanted to troll people, but I respect ones that know what they’re doing and can actually aim (e.g. People such as @“Sagan on Roids” for instance); and yes I know I likely have an irrational hatred for Proxy, but the amount of one-trick-pony Proxy players I see kinda puts me off (the ones who only know how to do the pizza-delivery tactic and are useless otherwise).

Bushwacker > Proxy > Turtle > Fletcher

I switch between Proxy and Bushy quite regularly but I always bring one of them to the match. Proxy is great at taking out other mercs by surprise, though the latest mine nerfs have made her a slightly worse choice than Bushy. Which is a shame since there are more sneaky mine spots than good places to put your turret at (I have yet to find a good placement for defending the last obj on Vault), but seeing your turret pop up several times in a row as it wipes half the attacking team totally makes up for that.

Turtle is so-so but a well placed shield can make quite a difference especially when trying to repair the EV in the open.

Fletcher is pretty useless in my hands, though I agree it’s pretty satisfying to land a stickie right on another merc’s head.

Turle and Fletcher are in the tie for. Depending on mood.

His shield is so damn useful. Coupled with the fact that he has strong primaries.
Fletcher on the other hand is pretty much Demoman with stickies, a very controversial mechanic from TF2, which carried over to DB.

Bushwhacker, I can play him, but I feel he’s the weaker Turtle. His turret needs a buff or something.
Proxy, she’s just for sheet and giggles.

I would say turtle is my favorite engineer to play. I’m not a huge fans of the guns he has, but the utility he offers his team is pretty great. He can also use his shield very well to protect himself from enemy fire while repairing objectives, so enemies have to get up close and personal, essentially giving you more time to repair.

Bushwhacker is one of my favorites. If you place the turret in a good spot, it is literally a mini rhino minigun but slower. A op spot many people place them is in the middle train track door on the second objective on train. I also love luring low hp enemies towards it. ez kills. Fletcher is my second favorite. Just love throwing stickies and the satisfying feeling when you kill somebody with it. Although of course you have to be a insane aimer with the stickies (like the good old sniff). Proxy is a meh. I used to use her a long time ago until I got good with fletcher but I just hate her in general now. Although I would much rather play proxy than turtle. Personally I don’t like playing defensive as an engineer so he doesn’t suit me.
