Favorite Class Poll

(Lequis) #1

What’s your favorite class?

In case you didn’t know:

Soldier:

Has the best guns for straight up combat (including a grenade launcher for the heavy body type) (currently in question)
Can resupply teammates with ammo
Can shield teammates
Can plant charges on certain objectives (doors/walls for example)

Engineer:

Can place a turret (only balance I know is the overheat mechanism)
Can plant landmines (3?)
Can buff teammates’ guns (until they die as far as I’m concerned)
Can fix objectives (ie “the cart” or stationary objectives)

Medic:

Can heal teammates (100% instead of 50% heal?/characters regenerate so healing isn’t as useful)
Can revive teammates (in two ways)
Can heal escort-able objectives

Operative:

Can interrogate an enemy (giving wall hacks (basically) for 30 seconds) (no bullet penetration in this game)
Can disguise as the enemy (spy checking is rarer than usual because friendly fire is on)
Can backstab
Can hack objectives (point blank=relatively fast, long range=takes a long time; emits a beep while hacking, giving off position to the enemy team)

Comment if anything is wrong (sources are appreciated).

I’m liking what I’m hearing about the Operative so far, so I think that’s what I’ll probably be favoring, but who knows. Second would probably be Soldier just to be the primary combat role, which is kinda the whole draw to a FPS I suppose.

Personally I would probably play Operative, Soldier, Medic, Engineer

Operative and Engineer are probably tied on interest though.

im vote for engy, cause i feel like self more that way[same true for planetside, triebes2, u2xmp and other FPS counterparts].
but if team/situation requires i can become operative.
not so good to talk about, but sometime worst operative is better than NOTHING[4 team].

C’mon peeps… 32 views and only 2 votes beside me? (both of which posted here)

I’ve been playing Medic since RTCW. It’s by far my favorite class and I’m good at it.

(MILFandCookies) #7

Dunno yet. They havent really gone into any of the class abilities, or the different weapons for each character size.

I typically play medic/cov/soldier in etqw though…

I LOVE the spy in TF2, but I am not fast enough on my feet (switching between being invisible, to knifing someone in the back, to invisible and sappin’ buildings). In TF2, my favorite classes are Scout, Medic, Pyro, Engineer, and Demo.

I voted Medic, but ALL the classes look very sexy! Looking forward to learning more about each one. I want Bethesda to secure those Magazine covers, get 'em published and set Rahdo free to give us all the info gravy!

I have never understood on games forums people voting for their favourite <insert item/character here> before the game is out.

I will have to play the game for at least a week before I choose my favourite.

Can we have a “Not sure” option?

(Kl3ppy) #10

I m playing most of the Medic/Technician at ETQW. I hope, that at brink the medic will be as important as in ETQW, so i can stay at the medic class

(Dormamu) #11

Sugar free, skinny bunny Medic ftw.

(hellspawn7) #12

I’m torn between my love of healing and my love backstabing once again but sense I’m more of a team player I went with Medic.

(Jamieson) #13

Medic for me, Killing people and keeping your team alive.

Engineer would be my second favourite.

(Lequis) #14

Personally I am all about Operative, then Soldier, Medic, and Engie.

With regards to interest level, the two coolest are Operative and Engineer, but I fear Engie may get cheap (because of insti-kill landmines and auto turrets).

what about remote hacking for operatives?

(Lequis) #16

what does hacking accomplish objective-wise? As far as I was concerned the remote hacking was just a fail-safe when certain points were camped out.

Um, sometimes it IS the objective…

As far as I was concerned the remote hacking was just a fail-safe when certain points were camped out.
sounds like a good time to use one of those turrets…

(Lequis) #18

If it did what interrogation does, I might say it is OP that operatives can do it at a distance, but the slow speed of distance hacking provides a good counter to the situation.

(LastGun) #19

i gotta go with operative because i love being that fast sneaky DEADLY snake in the grass.

(Exedore) #20

We think similarly…
