Ive suspected for a while hes a troll, but I`m willing to be proved wrong if he shows us some pics of his mapping or texture work.
but if he cant convince us he has a legit reason for posting in here, then imo he should be banned, but of course its up to ydnar.

Language is a large part of the issue, IMO. I think he has posted some screens on quake3world. I can’t imagine trying to learn mapping if all the relevant forums were in russian :?

maybe so but the questions he asked are usually about how q3map2 works rather then how to do certain effects or fix problems in his shaders, it just seems suspicious to me as he doesn`t sound like a coder, or even a serious mapper to me, no matter what his native language is.
ie, most mappers don`t need to know how the compiling or editing tools work, as long as we know how to use them.
tbh, Im increasingly getting annoyed with his irrelevant posts, and I know Im not the only one.

He only has 21 posts total, and except for this thread which I don’t quite understand, I’ve never seen him troll or anything like that.
And you actually have more posts on this useless thread then he does, so maybe you should be annoyed with yourself since your posts seem to be just equally useless flaming.
And I don’t see how asking questions about how q3map2 works makes people “suspicious”(whatever that means). The whole point of this forum is to ask questions about q3map2 by anyone mappers or non-mappers and for whatever reason.
And to suggest that people have to post pictures of their work to prove to you that they’re “legit” or otherwise be banned, is just ludicrous.
So RELAX and quit taking yourself so seriously.

@Wanderer, your right, I shouldn`t let myself get wound up by posts in here I think are suspicious.
anyone is entitled to ask for technical help if they really want it but I do think he`s trying it on with ydnar, rather then really wanting answers to his questions, so in that sense he is acting like a troll in my mind.
of course I could be wrong, which I will accept when I`m convinced he is legit, and the only person who can really do that is him.
so as much as I admire you for sticking up for the guy, you havent changed my mind in that sense, Im just not going to let it bother me any more.
feel free to think of me as a troll if you like, the difference is I know Im not, nor am I elitist as I regularly help out in private other less experienced mappers, if I like them ...although I dont need anyone defending me publicly, as I`m perfectly capable of doing that myself

ok, sorry guys, Ill give him the benefit of the doubt and stop thinking of him as a troll, but in any case, I dont like his style of humor …then again some people probably dont like mine when Im occasionally making jokes.
