As the word spread of this exploit now i see a lamer “farming” in pretty much every second pub game. Generally their usefulness to the team is either none or really close to that value. They just plain/recover stations or sticky bombs and comfortably sitting on the sidelines, taking either none or extremely little participation in action. Essentially they just waste a slot on a team. And often manage to farm enough points to end up in the first place, doing essentially nothing.
Devs should either remove exp for plating/deploying and bump reclaimable deployables action exp by 10-15% to compensate(healing/resupplying/detonating).
Or keep the deploying exp, but put it on cooldown, so it cant be spammed and can only be gained once every X seconds.
Or set a ceiling for exp gain by those means based on game duration and player being active during that time(eg so that they cant join in in last few minutes or wait out as spectators and then farm)
Farming stations got to stop.
Yes i totally agree with you. I’ve did my reseach and i find out that you can make around 45k exp per hour. Common that’s too much. if you got a bot that does the farming you will we really high rank in a weak. i’ve calculated that you can be lvl 10 in 29 hours if you bot all the time. this should be fixed.
Exactly my thoughts. Past level 4, you only get a regular case per level, so there’s no point in farming xp…
Since levels mean mostly nothing in Dirty Bomb, I’d wager the bots are simply farming credits for being in games. Gaining levels is most likely just a side effect but it means nothing outside of getting a couple of extra cases.

compared to mission $-intake, the base fee is a pretty meh-farm. Plus; if ever busted (playing for 2h without firing a single shot -type of thing) these farm accounts could get (hopefully) banned.

Yeah, I get that. But getting a small but steady increase in funds on an account that may or may not get banned by farming is better than nothing at all. It has virtually no down-side. If it gets banned then oh well because nothing was lost…including time. If it doesn’t the account can be sold or used with the credits gained.
It makes more sense that the people doing this are going for credits with the intent to use/sell the account with those credits than simply trying to power level something that has no baring on the game at all.
These players are doing WATERBOY missions, they arent doing it for the XP…They are doing it for the credits …

+1
just cant get why everyone crying so something
some are crying for noobs not giving ammo/med packs
other - for farming
Geez, I know people complain about waterboy being to much grind and not fun. But standing in a corner and deplyoing and reclaiming a turret over and over sounds boring to the extreme.
Unless ofcourse you would automate it via a macro or something like that. But that would be cheating, wouldn’t it. So report them with a screenshot and so on and get them banned. Problem solved
It never ceases to amaze me how much effort (either manual, or creative) people will put forth to farm virtual currency. And I’m even more amazed that other people will pay large sums of money to buy those accounts.
I agree with a Cooldown.
Also saw (Europe) some Farmers, well i don’t mind that much because to people who are JUST farming (so there is no match ongoing) - are fine. (Not great but hey, what should you do about it)
But farming while in a running Game, well that su**s. You should put a cooldown depending on the Character. So you can not farm it. Or a total of 3x XP gain for THAT specific Objective. Or something like that.
Or just something similar. It’s hard because back the days on ET people did not do that. Because there was a different Levelsystem, wich was pretty nice compared to this.
Or we could simply REMOVE WATERBOY MISSIONS , or lower the requirement by 2times… and everything will be fine
Waterboy is really slow compared to others, but there are people out there who like them the most, born supporters like Medics with heart. They enjoy those missions and even complete them fast as hell if done correctly.
I dont have and never had any problems with support exp missions.
I find them to be the easiest to complete, if anything. Every1 needs ammo and every1 needs healing. And decent medic or ammo spawner can easely make around 3k exp per average game.
At the same time game exp gain is situational. Especially if theres several techs in team, which is good for playing objective but not so great for gaining mission exp. Pretty much same situation is with combat missions, i can complete 6 objective games mission and only being halfway done with combat exp mission.
And if people like playing sniper or nader, or in general going all terminator, then its their problem that they have troubles with support exp gain. But then again, combat exp can be farmed as well with Fletcher. By simply sitting in the corner and deploying/reclaiming his bombs.
Altho i think that all exp missions requirements could be reduced by 20-30%. They are 2 time and effort consuming compared to all the others.
I like Waterboy and have no problem achieving it. That’s because I do a lot of support with my Skyhammer or Sawbonez. Sure, I drop an ammo case here or there where it’s not actually needed, but I’m definitely supporting my team.
Would be totally boring to stand in a corner just dumping ammo crates. You also don’t get that much, it takes a hell of a time to farm. By just supporting your team you get much much more XP.
So people who do this are either plain stupid or they’re using macros / bots to farm.
Thats the thing, by simply sitting in a corner and farming player can make 7+k sad exp per average game.
So farming is extremely profitable, yet it in terms of gameplay and teamplay its rather close to be gamebreaking. Those players waste slot on a team, and do nothing that can be remotely called playing, not to mention being completely irrelevant in terms of objective achievement or team support.
I have no idea how you can get 7K XP or more in 1 single game by just standing in a corner dumping ammo or health packs. You’d have to dump 700 packs.
the games teams are far too small to support people off ignoring obj’s doing their own thing - its bad enuf there are ppl playing with nfi but to do it intentionally? An educational Banning is the least that should happen
Ah and while im here - did they chang3e to station deploy cool down from when its 1st deployed to when its destroyed / picked up? Its annoying destroying a station to see aura just plop down another because it had sat for long enuf that its cool down had expired
Not packs. Stations and stiky bombs(dunno about mines and turrents, probably same).
Planting healing station earns you 30 exp, you can reclaim it and replant it in like 3 seconds. So, its 600 exp per minute - 10 minute game - 6000 exp. Doing absolutely nothing but farming.
There was a thread somewhere(cant find it) by one players, he got over 8k combat exp by simply planting/reclaiming stiky bombs. 0 kills/deaths, 0 all other exp, only combat exp, top score of the team.
