FAO Splash Damage Mods - Possible compromise

Maybe not what you’re wanting to do from what I saw in the r_skippostprocess thread

but maybe its an idea to not completely alienate 50% of your market, and until a fix is actually able to be released, be it from SD or ATi/AMD

opting to allow for skipping post processing, would be a MUCH appreciated allowance for a temporary ‘fix’

rather than seeming as the typical developer as of late, that take everyones money, and leave everyone in the dark :[

in reference to

This is cheat-protected in multiplayer because certain parts of gameplay rely on it.

i couldnt ask in the other topic, cause its closed now. what parts of the gameplay does the postprocess rely on exactly? wild guess. is it the depth of field that blurres your sight? is that a part of the gameplay? i dont know.

i have my doubts about that statement. i would even go as far as assuming its not 100% of truth. but i may assume wrong.

I really dont see any reason why to have this effect in game, that blurry screen just hurts my eyes (not kidding it really hurts). In every single game im turning this off.

Hope that SD will change they’r mind, it would be appreciated.

i can’t see any long term ramifications this would lead to if it was a temporary thing, long term it should have no impact, and the only thing i can think it’d do would remove the effects that cripple FPS (such as bloom, shiny surfaces, etc.) allowing for a little more comfort until a fix is found/implemented
