Chapter 1- The New Guys, part 1
Jackal barracks, 3:00 AM.
Rhino, Fragger, Phantom, and Sparks were standing in the lounge. Now, they didn’t quite know why a multinational terrorist organization had a lounge with a TV and a coffee machine, but they were most certainly grateful for it. Fragger and Rhino were having a jovial chat about gun cleaning and whatnot, while Phantom was busy trying to woo one third of their female population. "I think I might just be too good looking", he bragged, leaning against the wall next to the medic. Sparks simply rolled her eyes as she heard knocking on the door.
She darted to the vacuum sealed hatch, grateful for an excuse to get away from the casanova wannabe. As the sliding door opened, she was greeted by the sight of Proxy, who noticeably had a bit of grime on her face and clothes. Phantom also quickly took note that her clothes were a bit scorched, and let out of low wolf whistle. Rhino and Fragger chuckled, while Sparks glared at them with a look that could only say 'I will kill you and bring you back to life 20 times. They shut up after that. After what seemed like an eternity of painful silence, Sparks finally spoke up. "Proxy, why the hell were you out before three in the morning?" "Sorry mom," she retorted, "I got a bit lonely," giving Sparks her best puppy dog eyes. Sparks stamped her foot impatiently. "Well, uh, I found a pet!"
Sparks did a double take. "WHAT? You found a freaking dog or something in the middle of the small-scale apocalypse?!". Not taking note of her incredulous tone of voice, Proxy replied. "Well, yeah, duh. C'mon Stoker!' she said, clapping her hands and making a whistling noise. Rhino and Fragger dropped their coffee and stared. Phantom squeaked and hid behind Sparks. Sawbonez had just woken up. As he walked into the room, irritated, he began speaking. "Ey, what's with all the noi-" he stopped in his tracks when he saw the man with a gas mask and an assault rifle. "I, uh, think I'll go back to bed," he stammered, before sprinting back down the hall.
"Proxy," Sparks began, "That is a grown man." "So?" "A very scary grown man," she added. Proxy pouted and crossed her arms. "I don't care, I'm keeping him." Sparks pondered the situation for a couple seconds before turning to the rifleman. "You know how to use that gun?" He simply stared at her. "I'll take that as a yes," she sighed, before holding out her hand in greeting. "Welcome to the team, Stoker."
